My dad told me when I was a kid that a haggis was an animal that lived in the mountains of Scotland.  It had 6 legs, but they were shorter on one side than the other so it could keep balanced as it ran around the mountain. He also told me that bagpipes were originally filled with porridge, and pipers would blow the porridge out to gum up the haggis' legs so it couldn't run away.

He might have stolen those, and could possibly even believe them - I'm pretty sure that both of those were running jokes in The Beano or one of the other comics around in the 80s.

Another childhood illusion destroyed!

Both! But mostly fluffy!

And I'm not wrong, just like I'm not about milkybars and easter eggs! 😝 (I will never ever forget!)

I never had an issue with easter eggs, I just don't get through that many!

Milkybars remain suitable for 5 year olds, and that's about it.

Fluffy pancakes are indeed a good thing.  A decent stack with a good topping is a lovely thing. Crepes are also great, but i'm quite the lemon juice & sugar traditionalist.

They're not the best thing ever though. Sorry dude.

When you say 'his stash', do you mean his dope supply? If so, then that was very progressive of you to take that stance with him having it in the first place. I'm sure that making that decision would be a tricky one for many. On a personal level I

Just a bit of weed, so a parental lecture about harder stuff and a bit of understanding and things worked out ok. At least he avoided the habit of getting off his face on cheap wine that was and still is prevalent

Also no way I was going to be a hypocrite after the way I was at his age and what I got up to. Anyway he a dad now so he’s got all that to look forward to!

I'd love to say things got better as I got older, but they really didn't.  His favourite remains the night he soaked my gumshield overnight in tabasco sauce before I had a rugby match on the Saturday.  He was on the touchline pissing himself as I ran on the pitch and put it in my gob, and promptly started chewing the inside of my face off like I'd been on the disco biscuits all night.  I was 22 years old at this point.

Good call. Given that's the case, I feel that it's only right and proper that you get a 10 out of 10 too.

I've been getting back into baking my own bread again recently. Nothing spectacular as I want to nail basics and work my way on to some more interesting loaves. Happy with today's effort though 🙂

Cheers 😃

The added bonus is the smell of freshly baked bread throughout the flat afterwards. I really enjoy the process. I think the kneading is almost stress relief.
