Barely left bed yesterday but dragged myself up today for some exercise and tried to cook some veggie snacks. Then got a message out of the blue from an old friend recommending music 🙂

Hope you're doing ok today, making yourself get up is a good thing even if you don't fancy it you'll feel loads better for doing it x

I'm missing friends in other countries though I should be used to going long periods without them!

It's funny, because all my friends live away from me, so much like you I can go months sometimes a year or even longer without seeing them.  But since last March all I keep thinking is 'I wish I could see my friends' don't get me wrong, I always miss them, but especially so during the pandemic, when I might have only seen them once since it started if life was 'normal'

Hope you're ok, if you need anyone to talk to please just shout

Been a bit of a struggle this week. A friend said how it felt like it was all a year away from things getting better when it first started and it still feels a year away now. My wife also hit the nail on the head when she said weekends at the moment feel just like one long evening (partly why the snow day here last Sunday was such a breath of fresh air).

I know we have to be patient and it will get better - and February is a short month/Boris’s roadmap in a couple of weeks should help - but it’s starting to grate not being able to see family or be able to book things to look forward to. Obviously, there are people far worse off so can’t complain too much.

things will start to get better slowly the evenings are dark and the weather crap at the moment ... although we are now past the shortest day and it only gets lighter from here .... there will be slow gradual improvements and I would hope being able to see family members that have had the jab will be part of that .... in a short time we might have some idea where we are for the summer with the vaccinations going at a decent pace .... hang in there this is the worst time but things are slowly starting to improve

I'm so sorry you're not having a good time at the moment. I know its really hard right now and you're right - I spent the whole of last year thinking 'ah next year will be so much better' and now it's like we're on hold with our lives for another year! So frustrating isnt it!! The good news is, you're definitely not alone feeling like you do and you're absolutely allowed to get it out your system by having a moan, we all do it and it makes us feel better!! 🙂 look after  yourself we'll get there, we will! Sending love to you and your wife & family!

I'm glad we have gotten through January. One thing I have noticed is that we get a minute extra daylight at the start and end of each day now so by the end of February we'll have an hour more of daylight and that will really make a tremendous difference to everyone. I know I look forward to being able to do a walk before starting work each day.

I like to get out for a run first thing every other day (hoping to up that in Feb) and you can already tell the difference before 7am. Brighter days are coming.

Yes on days when it's not too icy and cold I have started to go out in the morning already although here in the north it is darker than the south. Sun rises on Pilton 6 minutes before it rises here in Stockport and set 9 minutes later in Pilton than it does here.

It would be a bit odd if you weren't feeling pretty shit at the moment with all that's happening. But getting together with others to share those feelings can be a bit of a release.

Absolutely this. Everyone should be patient with themselves at the moment - this is 100% the hard bit.

We'll get there.

Cheers guys. I was having a particularly off day yesterday. I find weekends the worst at the moment because of all the restrictions. I blew up last night over pasta that would not boil quick enough. My fuse seems to be getting shorter and shorter over the smallest things.

Sounds horrible bud.  If you're not sure I would suggest (if you haven't already) talking to your doctor; self diagnosis on the internet can be bad enough with the smallest of things and the last thing you want to do is send yourself down a rabbit hole.

Talking is def the way forward.
