I watch waaaay too much TV as it is. Got hours I haven't watched. Haven't even heard of almost half of them and now that's given me more stuff to add to the list.

I am in France now so using the opportunity to see what was good there this year TV wise. I am liking Sentinelles, about a group of french soldiers in Mali. More psychology/bit of geopolitics than fighting.

quite enjoying Traitors tbh its a bit of a mix of reality tv but some interesting psychology and twists .... Shame i dint watch from the beginning ... think ill be on my own on this one tbh but there we go

Saw a glowing write up online about this show so based on that and your post, I downloaded episode one. I wasn’t expecting too much because reality television has become glorified auditions for wannabe celebrities, mostly people chosen from central casting agencies who try and get on every show going.

But I’ll be damned if this isn’t the best concept I’ve seen for years, with contestants almost plucked from twenty years ago before reality television existed. I absolutely loved it and it’s the perfect binge material to enjoy over Christmas, where a positive Covid test is forcing me to do it alone.

Chuffed and a little surprised to see The Bear take the top spot, was my favourite of the year, ‘Braciole’ was a sensational episode, as well as ‘Review’ before it. Glad it’s getting the plaudits it deserves.

I'm with you both on this....Traitors has been great fun.  Knowing who was/wasn't a Traitor all the way through gives a great insight into their gameplay and the pyschology of the other players, particularly where the Faithful are incorrectly convinced of who is a Traitor, but I wonder if future series would change that and leave the audience unclued as to who is who for a more immersive experience?

Watch this series now before future ones inevitably become like a Love Island/Silent Witness mash-up.

I don’t trust the Guardian anymore, two shows I enjoyed, the Dharmer series and Mammals, they clearly didn’t watch and wrote the reviews based on pre-conceived opinions.

So you do know all the way through. I did wonder. I happened to catch the end as I switched over for the news. Obviously that element of it is spoiled but I wonder if it's still worth watching for the reasons you say. And yes, I assume this will be the last series which isn't full of the usual reality show lot. Maybe one more before it becomes unwatchable.

I was thinking they could do a red button option if you want to watch an edited version where you don’t know who the traitors are, I guess the difficulty would be avoiding spoilers.

Thought S2 of The Wilds was a total letdown. Zero likeable characters, badly written, drawn out, every other scene was either loud shouting or hysterical crying. It made me regret watching it in the first place.

you know the traitors at the particular moment  ... they do change somewhat but knowing them really in my opinion ruins nothing it makes how they interact more interesting .

Yes i sort of wanted to tell you not to watch but i knew it would be hard not to after season 1. Quite a waste... especially if you had to wait between the two seasons like i did...

I tried it half heartedly when it first started (half watched it whilst sitting on the laptop sort of thing...) and just got lost as to what the hell was going on... 

It was clearly beautiful though , so last night I started it again.. (Subtitles on, full concentration) and finished it this morning..

Oh my giddy aunt.!

The festive TV has been predictably dreadful - who is still watching Call the Midwife and Mrs Brown’s Boys - but the Inside No. 9 and Ghosts specials were fantastic. May have had something in my eye during the latter…

Both knocked it out of the park. Always astounds me just how much they both manage to fit into 30 minutes without feeling rushed.

Just need Detectorists to make it 3 for 3 tonight. Absolutely no doubt it will

best series of the year.  The English with SAS rogue heroes a close second due to its soundtrack and effects.

Any fans of Ghosts should check out the US version. I was quite sceptical about it but been working my way through it and it’s enjoyable. Quite true to the BBC version with a few character changes such as a Native American and a Viking ghost. It’s on BBC 3 catch up. The arrow through the neck scout leader is still there!

I see that the Glastonbury highlights programme isn’t on at new year this year. I was fully expecting the Glastonbury 22 review.  It usually follows the Jools hootenanny . Instead they are putting on the Alpha Papa Partridge film. Wonder why?
