At a bit of a loss on what to watch now. I was going to try The Peripheral but I’ve been warned about a major eye related gross out scene which has put me off. I don’t jive with such things.

Maybe I’ll try Undone on Prime again. I remember really enjoying that and now there’s a second season.

I really liked We are lady parts! Astrid in paris sounds like Emily in Paris though. I'm scared.

Not too much time for TV so slowly going through The devil's hour and the White Lotus.

Thankfully not like that, It's actually Astrid, murder in Paris, it's also called Astrid and Raphaelle.

Gentle-ish murder on More4 and 4od

Interesting, I am a bit tired of the "neuro divergent" catch in TV these days but just read a review that they actually don't go the Super Genuis Asperger.

She certainly has a unique perspective and is intelligent, or there wouldn't be a show, but they don't shy away from some of her challenges

My favourite "light" French TV show is Capitaine Marleau. Not sure if that's viewable from the UK but I've seen it around with English subs so probably. Basically a French Columbo. A bit long as it does the French thing of having hour and a half episodes. Part of the greatness is the puns and vocabulary of said Captain though but if you have some knowledge of French (slang) it's quite brilliant.

Ah, well it's my partner who's the biggest fan and she speaks French, ta for the tip.

Was a bit late getting started, but watched all of Andor over the last 2 weeks.  What a show!  Incredible storytelling and so well done - easily the best thing I have watched in a long time.  Pity its looking like a long wait for season 2, but I am sure it will be worth it.  Never would have thought stuff as good as this was on the cards when Disney bought the franchise.

I think she's probably watched about six episodes already, she's a big fan

Despite the typical online negativity, I really liked Rings of Power. Episodes 6, 7 and 8 in particular were fantastic. I think my only criticism is some of the editing seemed a little strange. Definitely felt like they had to cut at least two episodes worth of material, especially in the second half of the season. Relatively slow intro, then it (literally) exploded from episode 6. Pisses all over the three Hobbit movies.

Took me long time, but finally I watched it to the end and as you say once I'd watched the end it tied it together really well

It tends to repeat itself a little bit but still enjoyable.

Here... Finished The  Devil's Hour, thought the last episode was a bit easy. Rewatching Veep whenever I have a random 20 minutes. Yesterday I gave in and clicked on Selena +Chef. I like Selena Gomez. Here I said it.

Seeing some of the actors crop up again as different characters an episode or two later was certainly not something I've seen before on British or US shows, but she's such a great character.

When I looked it up I noticed Depardieu and Beatrice Dalle listed.  I dunno about the words 😉

Tbh I'm surprised it's not been on Walter C4 or similar

Self Esteem is going to be one of the contestants on the special Taskmaster on New Year's day. I'll definitely be tuning in. She has put it down as the biggest of all big days.

I'm looking forward to Frankie Boyle on the next full season.  I love how consistently good Taskmaster is - nothing else makes me laugh as much.

He's the one I'm not sure about. And I normally like him. A bit of cynicism can be good but I tend to prefer the ones who go for it. They don't have to be good, in fact it's more fun when they try and are shit. I think Frankie will make any previous don't give a shit, can't be arsed types (eg Jamali, Jo) look like the class swots.

We'll see though. They are very good at putting groups together.

And yes, also looking forward to Self Esteem in the new year special. Doubt she's got the time to do it but she could very much hold her own against stand ups in the full show. I remember her appearing on Elis James and John Robin's radio show and she ran rings around them.

Same, I enjoyed it so much.

At some point the Internet pointed me at an Instagram feed for Fern Brady, who really made me laugh and had some incredible outfits.  It turns out her feed is full of charming discussions where she mentions being autistic (which is why she dressed as an alien) and lots of people engage with her about their or their kids' condition and bless her she often has a little chat to them about it.
