Like, how are you supposed to compete when Facebook is full of Facebook mums believing every bit of disinformation and AI generated picture they see and the owner of Twitter is posting misinformation himself at an insane rate?! They’ve always depended on stupid people and now they can just funnel nonsense in to their heads 24/7 and it barely takes any effort. Kinda hard to see how Dems can compete - it’s gonna need another insane f**k up on the Repubs part akin to Iraq War, stock market crash, Covid bungle to get people out again to vote against them. Also doesn’t help that more than ever politics is seen as a team sport and everybody is loyal to their side and unwilling to budge.

I think why works so well for Trump at moment is he not really Republican anyway, not in the traditional sense...he's seen as someone who's going to change the system, drain the swamp, a destructor. steviewevie
...and you know, maybe it will work. Maybe his various threats of tarifs or whatever will win great deals for US with China/EU; maybe his strongman deal making thing will bring peaceful resolutions to Ukraine and middle east; maybe he will bring peace and harmony to all mankind; maybe he is infact the messiah. It's weird that Trump has being going all in on 'Electric Cars are sh*t!' and then teaming up with the biggest producer of electric cars in the country. Something's gotta give. Also, Alex Jones being suggested for press secretary. This will be hilarious if true.

Think this was just a suggestion from Candace Owens and not somebody in Trump’s team. In fact, I’m sure a lot of people are gonna be unhappy when Trump fills his cabinet with average politicians and Wall Street people and not loudmouth social media morons like many seem to be hoping for. I truly believe it wouldn't have been such a landslide without twitter. Would trump still have won? maybe, but musk literally had the ability to deliver that misinformation and propaganda to every single user. In the last few weeks my feed has probably been 90% republican! If only a small percentage of it was believed by the masses then it would still be a massive portion of the electorate. Couple this with trump's snake oil salesman and it's going to take a lot of beating.

I would really disagree with the point republicans have always relied on stupid voters. There are plenty of stupid on each side, plus calling one side stupid is not the way to win them back. Some voters have voted Obama, Trump and Biden, I don’t see why they are lost forever. I don’t agree with the point about loyalty, there are people willing t switch and winning their votes will continue to win elections. Now how to win them back is the more complex issue, the reality is you may not have to do anything other than look sensible and competent as Labour found this year. To me there are many answers, to me Kamala was just too “establishment” for this election and I’m not convinced a load of rich celebrity endorsements are always helpful. At the same time anti establishment doesn’t mean going left and focusing on defund the police, Gaza, Green New Deal etc. You need a left/centre left message that resonates on core issues, economy, housing, education and health. I found something that said 100 million users, but not sure how they define a user. I have my doubts it made a huge difference. When you take out all the people who don’t have twitter, always vote the same way, voted Dems or didn’t live in a swing state, I suspect you aren’t left with enough to make the difference in an election won fairly comfortably. FloopFiller
Apparently California still has a sh*t ton of ballots left to count and it could even be so much that it ends up giving Kamala the popular vote. I don’t think it’s gonna quite get to that, but what an absolute 2016 level f**ker it’d be if it did.
