I bet Biden is over the moon, obviously for the health reasons, but also the possibility that he could start his term as a vaccine is already on the rollout. Changes the complexion of his presidency enormously.

Money, I think.  Trump is their money maker at the moment and so they're trying to keep donations coming in, ostensibly to fight the fraudulent results.  But if you donate via his website, the small print says 60% will go to paying off his debts - very probably to some of those currently backing him.

Trump is in a world of shit, financially.  Deutsche Bank are coming for their money.  He's being looked at for a $75m tax rebate he got a few years ago.  He has many, many lawsuits lined up against him.  His hotels have taken a big hit this year for covid reasons and much of his property 'empire' is just his name licensed to be written atop a building, a name who's value doesn't have quite the cache it did not so long ago.

It's a house of cards and will collapse before too long, and his hangers on will leave.

Definitely. This will give him a good boat as he takes office. He seems like he’s got a well organised team which will help them roll out the vaccine to the country effectively.

But at the moment they're being wound up with tales of how elections are fixed - that's not the rhetoric that gets people out to vote. Many people will be thinking "well I came out to vote for the first time and voted for Trump and it made no difference, fuck this shit" and Trump is pushing the narrative that he lost because the elections are unfair and broken, and not because more of the Democrats came out.

Meanwhile the Democrat voters will be energized, they have momentum, they'll be able to get those who want to vote for the "winning side" on side, and yes, they're generally more educated so more likely to understand the importance of the Senate race.

It still matters I think.  We need as much to go against Trump as possible as he a slippery git.  FWIW the votes did go up for Biden at one point yesterday (putting him 20k ahead) but then shrank again 45 minutes later (putting him 17k ahead).
