The military hates Trump especially at the top level.

He won’t have their support even if Trump installs a Yes Man to order them on to the streets.

Yeah you’re probably right about that.

Also worth noting that the prolonged election result over the three days probably helped quell civil unrest somewhat as people had a few days to absorb the news rather than instantly seeing that their orange leader was out due to ‘voter fraud’. I’m sure there’ll still be some shit going down because of him, but not nearly as bad as it could’ve been/many expected.

Or maybe his militant base just see the writing on the wall even if their leader seemingly doesn’t.

The lack of any meaningful protest from the pro-Trump lot has really surprised me. It’s all gone off pretty peacefully. It doesn’t seem like the mass outrage Trump is trying to stoke is actually there. Feels to me they’re largely taking the result and that’s it. You’d think there would be large “voter fraud” protests around the country.

There is one negative to Espers firing.

They have something called the 25th Amendment over there. This act enables the 15 cabinet members to decide to replace the president with the Vice President if he is mentally, physically or medically unable to do his job.

Esper was one of the 15. They need a majority decision. Trump replacing him right now could be a pre emptive step at avoiding the much needed intervention.

As much as 2020 has been a horrorshow in lots of ways, I also feel like there's been some incredible banter throughout.

It’s the little thing that’s help get people through.

As funny as that is, I’ll have to call it out as a fake. It would take more effort to move and shrink the text and fade it out than it would to simply edit the text in the image.

The original image file probably did have Trump as the provisional winner though.

Editing the text on the image even with the most basic of graphics software wouldn’t have left a trace behind unless you deliberately wanted people to see it.

Just ran it through some photo editing software out of curiosity and it's real.

In that case they have deliberately left the word Trump there to be seen.

Yeah I don't understand the mechanics of it if it was done unintentionally. There's another little bit of text underneath 'shared priorities' that looks something like 'the future of this', looks like it's been faded with a brush or something.

Would Downing Street have it in them to troll like that!?

I know how Graphic designers minds work. I used to work with someone who used to leave a clown as a signature in any work she did. It was always on a hidden layer so wouldn’t have been seen in the finished artwork but anyone who could edit the .ai file would have been able to find her little calling card.

I used to leave random little messages on drawing files in text so small it would only appear as a dot if printed. I’m not surprised by what CAD/Graphics people will do to amuse themselves when they’re working on projects.

I really doubt this is intentional. Just some poor overworked Westminster comms designer rushing to get a job done in time and not airbrushing over the previous graphic properly.

This is my point though. It would have taken longer to create that image than it would have just to do a simple text edit. It hasn’t just been brushed over and had new text placed over the top. It was moved offline, shrunk and then faded to the point where it was only just visible if you zoom in.

100% a deliberate act.

I'm sure someone is drumming up ideas for a new small obscure stage on an out-of-the-way pathway on Worthy Farm next time we're all able to gather there ... probably call it Pyramid Total Landscaping Stage

Barnard castle would be a good one...complete with massive inflatable glasses for everyone

I was convinced this was fake but pulled the graphic from Boris' twitter feed and it is indeed real. It's utterly baffling how it happened. I can't see how any workflow would have left this artefact there, and not the rest of the message in this smaller typeface. I can only imagine it was done deliberately.

I'm a graphic designer.

I'd say so too but question is why?? Another tweet below showing the image more clearly and fella just checked himself in a photo editing prog and it is there - unbelievable tbh
