U.S. Presidential Election

Sounds like they've got Obama bang to rights TBF:

So what exact crime is Trump accusing Obama of committing?

The president himself does not seem to know. “‘Obamagate’,” he ruminated in the White House rose garden on Monday. “It’s been going on for a long time. It’s been going on from before I even got elected. And it’s a disgrace that it happened.”

Asked by a Washington Post reporter for the second time to name Obama’s exact offence, Trump replied cryptically: “You know what the crime is. The crime is very obvious to everybody. All you have to do is read the newspapers, except yours.”

Turns out Lauren Boebart's husband got arrested for flashing his knob at young girls:

Yep, whilst she was there. She’s also been arrested a fair few times, and didn’t even graduate from high school. Pretty low bar they’re setting over there so it’s no wonder that so many of these Q nutters seem to be slipping through the cracks.

Also saw that apparently Marjorie Taylor Greene ran unopposed in her run for office as her opponent had to drop out at the last minute due to a messy divorce in which he lost his house in the district he was running for.

Well, as long as she hasn't been trying to get into the Capital building with a gun; or live tweeted Pelosi's location during a riot; or given a load of insurrectionists a guided tour of the building, I can't see the harm in it.

I don’t think she’s a gun nut. She does own a bar called Shooters in a town called Rifle though. 🤔

You say that, they try, but Russia, despite their best intentions are not "in control" of the internet. No-one is "in control" of the internet. Locally perhaps, though invariably ineffectively, in Russia and any number of countries there is ineffective local control, but nobody is overlord over the web.

Many fall into the pit by their own volition, that is another mater. Many subscribe to services that plough their very soul for money. But no. No one is in control, for now.

If trump had half a brain he could buy a domain name fore a few dollars - trumptweets.com , and splurge out anything he desires all day like he did before and no one could stop him.

The fact that Trump is to stupid to see that and that we who do see that see that the internet, despite all the bullshit, is, in the end, a very good thing, reaffirms my faith in all this. Freedom of speech and freedom to lie. Always the opportunity to call out the lies. Everyone has a voice. Freedom to ban Trump. Freedom for him to find another platform.

Be ever suspicious, and don't believe everything you read and see on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram or here or anywhere.

Take great solace in your suspicion of everything you read. Be grateful you can still read it. Places like this will survive.

Everything we say here, from the drunken bullshit to poignant insight, all, recorded forever. Free.

There has been a bit of debate about how easy it would be for Parler to start up self hosted on tech websites. Consensus is it wouldn't be as easy as you think. Same would probably be true for Trump starting his own site.

Presumably the site would be high traffic so need lots of resources. Normally people use AWS or a similar technology, where it automatically spins up extra servers for you as you need them. But as these companies have all banned you, you need to pay to permanently have the number of servers required to process the maximum amount of traffic you expect.

This is exasperated by the fact your also banned from cloudflare which provides services which would lower strain on your servers.

Not only is the amount of server capacity you'd need expensive, it rules out all the smaller hosting companies. And there has been quite a lot of consolidation in the market, so your still in the situation where only 2 or 3 companies can serve your needs & they won't want the bad press.

Also a site like that is very likely to have denial of service attacks on it 24/7. No network host would want that traffic.

Cloudflare is quite good at preventing DOS attacks, but they've banned Parler & I doubt they'd accept any site associated with Trump

Poor guy's marriage was a casualty of the appaling harrassment, including death threats, which pretty much immediately followed him announcing his intention to run. When he pulled out once his life was in ruins, he was then criticised by people who'd never dream of putting their heads above the parapet, but thought 'someone' should stand up to the whackos.

Wtf happened to this guy honestly. I’m not a fan of Rudy at all but his descent has been rather plain and visible. Went from at least a smart lawyer to some dumb puppet
