Not sure why everyone is so convinced Arizona is a done deal for Biden.  Currently it's 51% Biden v 47.6% trump with 84% of the vote (3.4% gap).  At 80% of the vote there was a 5 % gap.  Do people know something that I don't?

The main outstanding vote seems to be from the biggest county (Maricopa) that is 52-46 Biden. I would assume they think more of the remaining vote, as well as the trend for outstanding postal votes will favour him.

I'm still astounded that after the last 4 years of Trump, the best the Dems could muster is Biden.

It's a valid point, how was there no one younger/more charismatic? I know age shouldn't be an issue but I feel it probably would be for some.

This election was about a lot of people holding their nose to vote for Biden and clearly many just didn't.  The size of the turnout in this election means that however you look at it, more people have looked at the last 4 years and decided that's what they support, that's what they want more of.  Even if Biden were to scrape in you're still looking at a nation where Trump increased the number of people prepared to vote for him.

There is a minimum age of 35 otherwise it’d be AOC.

In four years time she’ll be exactly 35.

Also Biden is the US Starmer.

Wouldn't AOC petrify many US voters, as she's probably seen as too left?

Not my view, I really like her.

It’s not really about the “best they can muster” though. It’s about who will beat Trump, and Biden was deemed to be most likely. It doesn’t mean there aren’t exciting and progressive dems out there, just not prudent to put them up against Trump.

Biden is closing in on both. There’s a reason Trump didn’t want mail in ballots to be counted - they massively favour Biden.

Biden is closing in big time in Michigan. Wayne Co specifically which has only counted 62% and holds Detroit which is massively Biden.

So we should be expecting a blue surge towards the end of counting? I can't take seeing Trumps face every day for another 4 years..

Hopefully. All projections show Bidens mail in count being about 70/30 in his favour/to registered democrats so if it all pans out that way, he should win. Even some of the places Trump was claiming victory in earlier have started to look like they might switch to Biden.

I was actually hoping Elizabeth Warren was going to win the primaries....I mean, she's no spring chicken, but..I just liked her.

She probably would have got beaten by Trump though.

Trump only won because the idea of another Clinton in power scared people.

I don’t think we’ll be getting a final result before Friday. These last states are close and could be recounts.

I was a bit of a Mayor Pete fan, not going to lie.  I thought he had the charisma and represented a good centre ground choice.

His regular appearances on Fox tearing them a new arsehole have been a pleasure to see. I’m guessing we’ll be seeing a lot of him over the next few years, and possibly a successful presidential run given time.
