It does seem like they will be announcing the emerging talent competition this week judging by Twitter so perhaps we might not get anything headliner wise until next week?

Some years they all get a slot, some years not. Depends on how good they are, whether any of the bookers there want them, or whether Michael says so. It's always a bit random.

After the 2020 competition it said the top 3 would all get a spot. Be a shame if it's only the winner now, though obviously they also need to find space for this year's winner(s).

A brief browse suggests that it's rare to get more then one announcement a week this far out, so that might be it until February.

If my memory serves me correctly (could be dreaming it!) west holts announced their lineup before the main poster. I wanna say around 2013/2014 time

Back in 2000 a number of areas were announced before the full line up.

In 2009 the T&C line-up came 3 days ahead of the poster.

In 2010 the announcement of renaming Jazzworld to West Holts included their full line-up one week before the poster.

T&C and West Holts also announced before the poster in 2011 but since then, no.

She’s doing a couple of shows in June so I’d imagine so mate. Caught her at All Points East in the summer and really enjoyed her. Hoping for a mid-day slot on The Park or JP.

If memory serves me correctly the 2020 initial poster was pretty substantial around March time? I’d bank on similar this year… but I’m getting mad impatient. Not that it matters too much, but three years off and the anticipation of being with you legends in the best field in the world again is getting me a bit stir crazy!

The key pattern over the past decade is the poster dropping before the balance payment deadline (2015 aside). The balance deadline being earlier this year does suggest we could have a poster before the end of February, but whether or not Covid has caused any booking issues behind the scenes could influence how soon they can get a poster out there. I'm still going for the w/c 21st Feb, and hopefully a headliner in the next week or so...although the longer we go without a headliner the more I think they'll hold off until the poster drop.

Substantial but we were still without some acts. I think we were missing a sub and a few acts on the major stages (other and pyramid).

That perhaps could have been due to acts feeling uncertain about having their name announced, or they kept some things back. But who knows?

Easy to work out numbers based on the playlists they put on Spotify.  (We did do there at the time but no idea what thread they’d be in)
