The Roots are my dream West Holts headliners, and they're active in the UK in July, but I'm not holding my breath. They always seem to have some dates in June/July in Europe but never end up at the farm.

While I don't think it would happen this year but Ghost are doing festivals next summer and would be a great leftfield other stage headliner, they are basically spooky Abba and but on a very good show.

Definitely not OS headliner but possibly a spot similar to Babymetal when they played

They are much bigger than BabyMetal and have a lot more cross over appeal, I have a hard time believing poeple wouldn't be lapping this up live.

Just did a bit of Spotify stat searching, Ghost have almost double what Queens of The Stone Age have in monthly listens, 8 times Baby Metal.

Ghost are headlining 2nd stage at Download where they're most in-demand, I think 2nd stage at Glasto is probably a stretch.

Ghost headlining other is a riddic suggestion. If you don’t follow metal you won’t have a clue who they are.

they are probably the biggest metal band to emerge in the last 10 or so years. There last album went to number 2 in the US and the UK. If non metal heads can name a relatively new metal band, that isn't baby metal, it would probably be them.

I don't think they would headline other either because Glastonbury doesn't book that many metal bands. But if they did book them up against some big pop act like dua lipa or taylor swift I think it would go down well

This opinion is ridiculous in itself, I don't think you realise just how big they are, their music isn't strictly metal either, it's actually far more rooted in rock. They have massive appeal. 

Like I said in my original post it would be a left field choice but thats exactly the type of booking Metallica was when they headlined the main stage.

If Bring Me the Horizon can’t get near Other headliner despite being a genuinely big band with plenty of radio play then no chance Ghost will be doing that. I could see them playing opposite the legends slot in the same way they had Babymetal/Bring Me the Horizon on the Other stage in 2019 but nothing more than that.

I don't like BMTH but they 100% could and should headline the other stage at some point. 

Got to keep the festival fresh with a left field bookings. 

Going by Spotify statistics (rudimentary metric I know) a few numbers for you,

BMTH - 11.4 million

Ghost - 9.1 million

Bands that have headlined the other,

Foals - 3.3 million 

Christine and the Queen's - 1.8 million

While the latter are definitely more safe bets for a Glastonbury spot I think to say the former aren't big enough with enough crossovers appeal for a lot would be disingenuous.
