I dunno - they scheduled Megan Thee Stallion and Roisin Murphy against Macca; Chase and Status against the Stones.

A lot of emphasis seems to be put on needing a big draw to clash with a pyramid headliner if they think it'll be particularly massive one - maybe actually they figure the pyramid stage can handle it?  maybe bigger potential other headliners don't fancy clashing with Stones & Macca so it's a chance for someone else to take a bump?

Yeah the emphasis is made on here, but there's not much evidence that it informs scheduling thinking by the festival.  The Pyramid Stage field. can generally cope.

I know it's a month later, but Cirez/Beyer is absolutely god tier.

Hope Prydz turns up at Glasto

I've long been banging the snare for Prydz' return (since he was last on the farm in 2009) with zero success. I've given up now*

* reverse psychology. Seriously hoping for the EPiC or Holo show somewhere...

I just want one of the following acts, all known to be active this coming summer, to headline a stage on the Friday night:

  • Prodigy
  • Yeah Yeah Yeahs
  • The National
  • Pavement

Any of those an an alternative to Arctic Monkeys would do me just fine.

I want to see a Sunday run of The Prodigy, Black Keys and YYYs on Other

Personally I'd say they're more interested in flows of people between acts, and not having stupid numbers of people going to sets on stages that can't actually cope (so other than pyramid) e.g. wet leg this year.  Rolling Stones they had extra time between sets before they started, generally there is an Other / WH pre headliner which doesn't finish until near when the pyramid's headliner is about to start - presumably that helps spread the flow of people towards the pyramid.

Pretty poor for Boston Calling isn't this? Might be just because its lots of US names but feels quite meh

Hmm, I think it's a pretty strong lineup for Boston Calling - esp. after the debacle this past year.

Especially if (as seems likely unless they're at Coachella) it's the first FF gig back which would be a big get.

Still waiting on them being announced for something in Europe, they’re strangely absent from Mad Cool, Werchter etc.

I presume they're doing the late summer festivals – All Points East, Green Man, etc – or for whatever reason are being announced as second phase announcements for earlier festivals in the summer. It's a bit frustrating because I thought they'd be all over the festival season here.

I have a good feeling YYYs are going to fo APE supporting someone. For them it's a better slot probably as an academy band than what other festival will give.

I also think on something else looking at dates that Paramore could be  doing APE. They've got a window realistically after florida of about 10/11 days max to come to Europe and then head back to New Orleans area. Given they are about 20 days apart I'd suggests it's just a touring break.

They currently finish up early August with an ideal gap going on the space they have left between American dates and others previously in their schedule. Can't rule it out but I don't think they'll be a Victorious headliner, though I'm all for it.

I had no idea Lumineers were considered festival headline level in fairness. Pretty sure I've only heard one song of theirs, which may say something about the bubble I live in as much as anything.

QOTSA (Pyramid) -> Prodigy (Other) on the Friday would be a dream.

Lizzo (Pyramid) -> Yeah Yeah Yeahs (JPT)

Pulp (Pyramid) -> Elton John (Pyramid)

That'd be pretty swell too. Ticket money recouped in just those 6 sets, anything else a bonus.

Swap YYY’s to The Park and you’re on
