I think rappers who are essentially rapping over a jazz track - like Anderson Paak and Chance the Rapper - it's really well suited but when people see that and think it'll work for any rapper... nah. Turntables and sampled beats are as much a part of hip hop as rapping is.

I always thought the grammar was debatable too. What purpose does the colon serve? 'Blur Are Shite', or 'Blur: Shite' make more sense

There are one or two bona fide great songs (Pyongyang, My Terracota Heart) but a lot of... not great stuff too.

A lot of it sounds like music from the Final Fantasy games.

A couple of tracks sound like the dreary stuff from Albarn's solo album.

Edit: and after a quick reminder, Pyongyang is one of them.

Pyongyang was one of the few songs on that record I thought stood up to their previous work.

I think the songs were elevated by the presence of the band, but they just weren't particularly strong compositions.
