Feel like a lot of fanbases take a conspiracy mindset tbh. Arsenal's are derided for being among the worst offenders but every club has elements who think the referees hate them.
Coote's not helped the PGMOL with this, mind. Their PR department is going to have to work overtime on this one.
I'm aware you can see a football/music pollination, particularly in international tournaments. Hell, I chose not to see The Killers on the night of the England Euros semi final and missed seeing the two worlds colliding with the band choosing to broadcast the last 2/3 minutes of it in the middle of their set then play Mr Brightside as a celebration when England won.
Yeah this is the thing, it depends on what the original poster of the question considers an “absolute disaster” - it’ll handle the traffic no problem and from reading posts by users far more in the loop than me regarding the tech stack, the bot detection system should work really well as well.
My biggest fear is there is issues checking out or kicking sessions out and throwing people back in the queue. This did happen in the last two big tickets sales (fender/oasis)
edit: and yesterday with the LFC ticket sale, members having sessions terminated.
By default, we'll have to move on from these kind of acts eventually, and I say that as someone who has seen most of these acts named above. Although I think it shows either that the 2000s produced a pretty good swathe of acts if you can still fill festival bills through the summer with acts that broke through in the 2000s or it's an indictment on the 2010s for not being as good at producing a similarly sized pool of festival headliners.
