Read an interesting article on the BBC the other week about bands playing fewer dates and opting for two nights in the same city to reduce costs. Fine if you’re capable of selling the tickets but I would’ve put my house on them not selling two nights at Victoria Warehouse.
I saw Amyl on the Hela Mega and I've been a huge fan ever since, their latest album is much more interesting than their previous stuff. Tickets To My Downfall is a genuinely fantastic pop-punk album and I think people have a lot more issues with who he is as a person rather than his music. NBT aren't my cup of tea at all, very boring on record and in-person, think they'd go down like a lead balloon.
Thinking outside the box, Roger Daltry has just announced a solo tour for April/May next year. Or Dr John Cooper Clarke who is touring next year (though this would be amazing). Mcfly v Busted taking up a big slot wouldn't surprise me and be absolutely tragic. Primal Scream maybe, just supported Alice Cooper on his arena tour. Maybe a rapper like Loyle Carner or an electronic artist getting a big slot like Skrillex.
Wait...maybe the headliner is a Korn x Skrillex set playing Path of Totality in full! Boom, nailed it!
I'm not sure I could see Beartooth agreeing to a slot where they couldn't bring along decent production (pyro). Whether they merit or not is another question after the recent tour sales. I went to Birmingham night 1 and the standing was full but the balcony was pretty empty and a third of it curtained off.
