Ok...and if snp do vote down the speech?

That’s the whole point of it. If they vote for the Kings Speech then they would be responsible for another Tory government or another general election.

Anyway all hypothetical because labour are going to win a massive landslide, right kids?

they won't win if the electorate thinks they've done a deal with the snp. which is why keith keeps saying he won't do a deal.

That was my point..I don't believe Starmer when he says he wouldn't do a deal.

He won’t do a deal, there won’t be a coalition or a confidence and supply agreement. They will operate as a minority government if they have too.

Yes, I understand that!

(I just don't believe him).

Anyway, Sturgeon going could make a Labour majority much easier.

only if scots really want shot of the tories, and vote labour.

last time labour did that, the snp pulled the plug and let the tories in.

If they happens next time then it will form attack lines for Labour who can claim that the SNP facilitated a Tory government and it’s the Tories who do deals with the SNP.

the unsolvable problem of brexit and N Ireland still seems to be unsolvable...without that thing called compromise.

or just some sense, which is not available within the ERG wing of the tory party.

Starmer’s centre right positioning puts his priorities at odds with those of the SNP, greens and the socialist campaign group. Hard to see how he good govern on a minority or with confidence and supply. That is to say, the left wing parties/MPs would not have confidence in a Starmer lead govt.

So who would they have confidence in instead, the champion of the left sunak?

Nothing he’s said there is accurate, the far left are just annoyed about Corbyn not being able to stand as a Labour MP.

(that's actually a pretty good speech. Labour really need scottish seats, and with Sturgeon going they have an opportunity)

I watched it live and thought it was pretty good too.

I’m saying it would be a dead government if he tried to run as a minority and he has positioned himself in a way that would make confidence and supply impossible. The SNP, greens and the left of his own party wouldn’t vote for his bills.

So in the event of a hung parliament Where lib dems and Labour aren’t enough he either has to break bread with the SNP and/or greens and/or left of his own party and invite them into government and let them influence things, or he will preside over a period of stalemate.

Its an ideal scenario. Starmer hoisted by his own petard and electoral maths, having to eat humble pie and go begging to the left for votes. Lets hope it happens

If he was a sucker for leftist game play, he'd let corbyn back in.

Much easier to have that fight with the snp
