Nipped into Sainsburys after the gym, loads of tomato's but bought them all up just in case

You'll be getting banned like the woman yesterday who bought a hundred cucumbers

‘This is systemically’ about Brexit. Plus there are some highlights of other failures too that are highlighted.

From the same thread:

"UK gov has historically never prioritised Agriculture. A 2006 Cabinet Office report under Labour into food security, was nicknamed the 'leave it to Tesco' report because it basically said we could always buy our way out of any crisis. 4/"

It's easy to cherry (tomato?) pick the bits of detail that support your view.

I don’t really know why you are arguing so much, I mentioned that the thread highlights other failures and have only really said that it’s logical for people to link Brexit to it. Which seems like a fairly balanced statement to make.

Clearly there are other issues but Brexit has certainly meant that these issues are felt much harder in the UK and will take longer to remedy. If we were part of the SM then we’d might be seeing some of these issues but they would likely not be as bad as the trading partners would be sharing their produce round to us as we’d be in the SM.

There were no tomatoes in my Tesco last night. Made me nostalgic for the early days of Covid seeing those bare shelves.

Should we start another "when will this shit end?" thread.

im already giving the updates to my watts app group .... should i start in here too ? tesco to me seems worst affected .... Asda we seem to have supply early but it runs down quick and doesnt cover the days trade .... all ok now on bog roll and hand sanitiser ... turnips also fine

I'm in a politics thread on a Glastonbury forum 😂 But actually if you want a more serious answer - I tend to group myself as being a Remainer, on the left, socialist etc., so it bothers me more when people who I believe also categorise themselves that way make such flawed arguments. So I call them out.

As I said before, I understand why people are connecting the two, but to do so in such a decisive way is illogical, and is ignoring some of the much more important reasons.

But yeah it is a boring discussion really, so I'm happy to drop it.

I think what we're going to get is a devastating global flu pandemic, a war between Russia/China vs USA/Europe, a black hole that is roaming through the universe and definitely heading our way, a comeback for Boris and Trump, and a flooded Glastonbury.

Cheerful chap aren't you.
