Plenty of BBC presenters spout right wing rubbish eg Alan Sugar but nothing happens to them.

I’ve pointed that out on my local team’s forum and a more moderate Tory has jumped to his defence: “Alan Sugar isn't employed by the BBC nor does he work for them as a freelancer so anything he says cant be interpreted as representing the BBC or its views.”

Not sure what the beeb does now. If it backs down does it lead to all presenters tweeting their opinions?

Is this the beginning of the end? I always thought it would eventually end up with a subscription based model like Netflix as its current one doesnt work in the age of social media and the internet but I didn't think it would happen this quickly!
