SNP need to forget independence

Yeah, and the Greens need to forget the environment.

You do realise that's why they exist.

You are maybe confused because the Labour party are fine with abandoning their principles and you think that sets some sort of precedent.

So they've campaigned for self I'd so it can be ignored and be meaningless.

you forgot to include the "for now" bit, but ok, de-priortise it...there is not much of a route to independence at moment...and SNP are at risk of losing power in Scotland unless Yousaf can turn things around, improve public services in Scotland and at least make SNP look united,

Plan is to stick those horrid illegals (or asylum seekers to me and you and ECHR) on big boats, get them out of the hotels...not sure how workable, I expect will make life even more unpleasant for these people,  but they'll like it in the red wall and that's all that matters.

Maybe, just maybe they need to fast track these asylum requests to get the backlog down...especially for those coming from certain countries...Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Eritrea etc

I saw somewhere that Sunak is concerned that Braverman is pushing these amendments in secret with the right of the party. I think she’s trying to her us to the position of leaving the ECHR.

whilst Yousef got 53.7% in an actual election from average Jocks

...and Labour came second with 32.7% .

What's you point?

My point is that using the nonsense lie of Yousaf being a socialist and him being FM means that Scotland is so much more left wing than england is a dumb argument cause A) he isn't socialist and B) England voted in large numbers for an actual socialist not long ago (more so than up here!)

There's another thread for Scottish politics, why don't you guys have that argument in there?

That's an indy thread, this is the politics thread. This is as correct a place for it as any. Also, stop trying to police the thread again, you've been told before to wind ur neck in

looks like Jez's ego will have him standing against the labour party

Which I believe is against party rules and will result in him being kicked out of the party on top of not being able to run as an MP.

Who knows though as he's done it before. He campaigned for the Communist party of Britain when Blair was in charge and he wasn't excluded then:

Aside from the "I would like to join the communist party" section I guess not 🤭

Bloody love Dick Guaghan, brilliant folk guitarist. Attilla would have been good too - cracking gig 🙂

More volunteering tomorrow this time it's to help define the treatment regimes for stroke care using my experience to say what they could do better, I've got a few ideas that I think would help improve outcomes.

this was good, and i got a bit of praise for my other volunteering at what's called a stroke cafe, where people like me pass on our experiences to new stroke patients, and apparently what i said last week, has inspired a couple of people, and this was said to a roomful of medics & academics today who all work with stroke.

9good to know i'm making a positive difference. 🙂

i just about avoided being filmed for bbc local news today, when points west visited the stroke support group i normally attend on Wednesdays but i dipped out today to avoid the rain. they filmed it cos Bristol after stroke is celebrating 40 years this year, and i get to attend the birthday party  at Ashton gate tomorrow.
