They are changing the narrative basically. It’s no longer about 1000 Tory losses but about a supposed Labour underperformance and not being able to form a government. Don’t fall for it.

thing is there is some truth in it...I didn't fully appreciate before how much labour needs to win back after 2019...the polls recently have been very flattering for them, but reality is it is very difficult....but still, a lot easier than it is for the tories, they are truly fucked.

Sure there’s some element of truth but they are shifting the narrative so instead of Tory failure it’s once again Labour failure. It is also comparing apples to oranges, there’s too many differences.

You are right about the scale of the task for Labour after 2019. The result was so bad it’ll take the biggest swing in UK  electoral history for Labour to gain a majority. Everyone wrote Labour off back in Jan 2020 yet here are in May 2023, Labour have been roughly 15 points clear in the polls for months and now are the largest party in local government; yet the narrative is that Labour are underperforming. Take a moment and think about that.

-1000 has been hit. Normally you’d think heads will be rolling but is there anyone left to take the blame?

Why this is a disaster for Keir Starmer - Me for Gammon Weekly.

The problem for Starmer is he lacks that x factor that Blair or Wilson had, and he lacks a big vision that Attlee had...and labour need either or both that shit to win even when the tories are a total disaster.

This! He wins the ‘Not the Conservatives’ vote.

its pretty obvious that its a tory disaster .... that kind of goes without saying

It was a joke as all the right winger commentators online love to write opinion pieces on how things have gone wrong for Starmer.

How are we back on this, again!?

Look at the election results and are you seriously responding to that with ‘Starmer lacks x factor’!?

They won the election.

they did, but currently projected to be not enough to win a majority. Tories are giving away votes because of the state of everything, but not enough of those votes are going to labour. That is the reality. I'm not saying it's easy for labour to attract votes in red wall and blue wall and all the other walls. It's almost impossible...labour need a leader that can inspire, like Blair did...but everyone so cynical now because of how it ended up with Blair but also it's all twitter horseshit maybe a dull techocrat like starmer is best we can hope for.

You can’t base general election results off the back of local election results. It’s not any reality at all, you’ve stated a possible projection.

So on the day Labour become the largest party of local government still you find reasons to moan about Starmer. Give it up, he’s just won the local elections. Labour are on course to win the next election too.

This is tough going for Starmer.

Yeah so labour are doing well in red wall, they seem to be winning a lot of those back, or at least the key ones...but they need to win those blue wall seats that lib Dems have done so well in too..unless they win loads of seats in Scotland because of snp implosion.
