I think that's something for media firms to keep remembering. We've had budget cuts, ad shortfalls and a sense of everyone trying to keep up with the 24hr news cycle where there's companies feeling almost like they have to cover 20 stories a day, but there's still room for well-researched pieces that take their time. I saw that with the real life case behind The Dropout, where the level of Theranos' deception did need probing from a journalist to work out that it was all a load of bollocks.

Tortoise media are really good for this stuff.

In fairness I would argue it’s not really their job, they wouldn’t have time to do something like this.

True I guess but then again what are their actual jobs?

...and actually all the enablers around him.

Not just enablers, also People wanting to be victims cos he famous (just saying that the likes of me couldn't get away with the same behaviour in that world). It's such a big story cos the media world types involved have decided to use all their contacts.

I think 'why don't women report rape to the police,' shows a shocking lack of understanding as to the nature of these offences, the difficulties involved with such and the lack of support ( especially with famous people )

That reason is mentioned in the article as well.

Does anyone pay much attention to what Brand says these days? I doubt very much this is being done because of what he's been saying (not saying this is your view).

returning to this...a lot of people do pay attention to what he says I reckon...maybe not so much in the grand scheme of things, but still a significant amount...and this just plays into the whole deep state witch hunt conspiracy thing too. I am not saying this has anything to do with these accusations, but it is part of the whole narrative.

The fact that he doesn't really have any unique insight but just blabs what he has read on Grayzone or similar is another thing...

I’m not so sure he’s that significant anymore. I’ve gone on his YouTube channel, a video from 6 days ago about vaccines with Trump in the thumbnail has only done 919k views which to me doesn’t seem great.

Whats grayzone?

As a resident of Wales who takes a keen interest in politics the 'attempt to stop people using cars' is yet another falsehood they are using to try and make people hate the government here.

The local MP, Tory, says it will ruin tourism as people will not be prepared to drive that slowly......................... I mean, desperate stuff.

The default 20mph speed limit will come into effect across all Local Authorities in Wales, and will result in most of the current 30mph roads being reduced to 20mph to improve road safety. Welsh Government has emphasised this is not a blanket change for all roads – rather, as a general rule, it will apply where street lighting is in place, unless signs are indicating a different speed limit.
