It will defo drop by like a percent cause of energy prices. But it’s still way too high. No chance of a cut unless we have a crippling recession.

Sales in furniture are definitely down compared to this time last year.

It's so funny how much Corbyn gets talked about. He really did leave a lasting impression.

It's not that long ago. The 3 years since he left have been bonkers. Each crisis covid, Ukraine, Isreal just prompts the thought about what if Corbyn was leader or even worse PM.

Yeah I just find it odd - feel like he gets mentioned a lot in this thread by people who claim to dislike him. 

Also I'm sure his views are more aligned to mine on what's happening in Palestine, so I reckon I'd take him over a PM shaking hands with a war criminal. Ukraine is a different kettle of fish so I'll give you that one. Covid, if you think he'd have done a worse job than the Tories then you need your head examining.

Why did you put friends in quotation marks? I think I'm missing whatever the implication is there.

Also it's a very loaded way of asking the question isn't it. I'd prefer a PM that doesn't support war crimes.

Covid I don't know...things may have been similar, he definitely would have been more comfortable with state support than the tories. I expect there wouldn't be parties going on in Downing St like there were with Boris. Russia/Ukraine I expect he would have remained more neutral, calling for negotiations etc., but maybe would have fallen more in line with Nato/EU if he was actually PM. With Israel he may well have visited Israel and Arab counties but would probably be pushing for ceasefires and two state solutions etc. In the end you have to meet and shake hands with people you profoundly disagree with, and I'm sure he would have known that.

I think he was pictured at a dinner party during lockdown wasn't he? Sate support, We spent £400 billion and its the reason we are in such a mess now, I'm not sure how he could of spent more unless he'd locked down for Omicron and it had carried on for a few more months/years as thats the point politicans stopped listening to Sage.

Also I think he refused to take the vaccine or at least wouldn't say either way.

actually I should caveat that maybe Israeli leaders wouldn't want to meet him even if he wanted to...

He said he was mid quoted as him saying he was friends with Hamas. It was never disproven though.

Israel has so far not agreed to this.

Hamas does not hold all the hostages. Some are being held by other armed militant groups.

Their continued captivity in Gaza is a complicating factor for Israeli commanders planning their intended incursion into the territory.

Obviously, the hostages stand a far better chance of coming out alive if this can be done by negotiation.

All seems a bit pointless. Hamas go into Israel and kill a load of people, take hostages. Israel kill a load of Palestinians too. Hamas offers to release hostages for ceasefire. Nothing gained and thousands dead. Just so sad.

I don't imagine Israel will call a ceasefire for some hostages, they will need all of them. And even then not sure, would that mean Hamas stay in control of Gaza?

The terrorists cause becomes more high profile in the media. More aid and donations are sent to help the cause.

You can also substitute ‘terrorist’ for ‘religious group’ and it has the same meaning.

That’s a fair point, but is there a mechanism that can allow them to do that other than vote no confidence in their own government which would lose them their seat anyway?
