For GB News though? Can’t be right?

Yeah, his polling is always showing really low Tory VI. I imagine because they want to show people dislike Sunak after the reshuffle.

The wording of an opposition amendment will not save a single Palestinian life today. It may however impact in future peace talks with Israel which may save lives in the future.

Well they've blown that then too.

Netenyahu won't be in power as soon as this is over. His ratings are through the floor.

It won’t make any difference to what’s happening over in Gaza as you say the opposition party in the UK have no immediate sway. Labour using the word ceasefire won’t help bring about a ceasefire any quicker.

about half a mile from me a big tower block has been evacuated of 400 people  tonight over safety fears - this comes a day after another  bristol tower block was told its top floor needs to be knocked down, the failure of local councils to inspect new buildings comply with building regs goes on and on.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-england-bristol-67421318

The building evacuated today is apparently the oldest tower block in the west country and the problems are unlikely to be in other tower blocks Which is good as there's a number of them near to me and if the tallest came down flying debris would be likely to hit my house.

Hope they can get this sorted quickly so people don't have to be out of their homes for too long.

How about cessation of violence?

"cessation of hostilities" is a bit better i think  - cos its a hostile act but not a violent act to keep hold of the hostages.

Sadly this is Matthew Goodwin’s polling company so can’t really be taken seriously. It is fun though.

never heard of him, so just googled, and went to his wiki page, where his dob jumped out at me, and how a professor of politics is 14 years younger than me.

USA confirming Hamas have been using hospitals to stage fighters.

of course  - they wouldn't lie about that to help an ally  when Israel is coming under ever greater international pressure.

Maybe its a bit snobby of me and there is no evidence to suggest that MPs are smarter than anybody else, in fact all evidence points to the contrary, but I find it amost incredible how poor her written English is.

That's f**king horrible to read.

You'd at least hope one of her staff could've given it a quick once over and suggested, I dunno, a complete rewrite.

I know what you mean about snobbishness and expecting better from people based on their position (and then being disappointed). A quite senior manager in my company sends emails that make my brain hurt. I absolutely judge him for it.

I want to see it for the entertainment aspect, would be chaos.

That's great and all, but this chaos is affecting people's lives. It's all well and good thinking oh it helps Labour's chances or it's fun to watch or whatever but we have to live with this shitshow "running" our country. Actively making things worse for people, either deliberately or just through incompetence. The absolute bullshit that is Housing at the moment is a great example of that. 16th minister in 11 years.

Imagine being sacked by Truss AND Sunak?

Any normal person, that'd be a real blow to your self confidence. Maybe make you question what you've been doing. Not her though!

only meaningful if both sides will sign up to it they won't.

Actually Labour are using "cessation of fighting" in their amendment, and an "end to the violence", but not ceasefire..that is the magic word demanded by many within Labour.

Yes, of course a ceasefire only works if both sides sign up to it, and would mean all hostages released, so god knows if actually could happen...but if more western powers start demanding it than it does make it a bit more likely...ultimately the pressure has to come from US, and by all accounts there is stuff going on behind the scenes...but it is difficult when people on both sides seem intent on wiping the other out. To bring up a racist trope used not that long ago but very much relevant now, all lives matter.

Haha Sunak is taking credit for getting inflation when he hasn’t done anything to help reduce it. It’s come down because supply chain issues have receded not because of him.

It’s not really going to help anyone though and prices are still going up just not as quickly.

pay is up 7.9% so living standards will be improving...(although food inflation still high, no energy rebates and mortgage payments up).
