Have people only just started to notice?

This has always been the plan

if its always been the plan why did Israel let the Palestinians to return in big numbers 20-ish years ago.

the facts don't align with your hate-take.

problem is, there are many on the right who do want Israel to just drive out all Palestinians and take the whole lot...and they just happen to be in power....and ironically the more that Palestinians fight back the more power these right wingers have. The extremists on both sides feed each other.

The right wingers want a lot more than Gaza and west bank.

tory's are going to pump the housing market and push up prices even more.

if labour don't pump the market to avoid a house price slump they'll have trouble avoiding a recession, and delivering promised things that need a growing economy to fund them.

Accessibility to the market and the cost / amount of housing are not the same problem and need to be dealt with separately.  Both matter.

No point having low cost housing if you need a 50% deposit...     it would be better for most people to have high prices and 100% mortgages.

Completely agree, saving up for a deposit is such a barrier to entry. Next year is a year of big saving for us, but once we can finally get a place our disposable income goes back up (because it'll cost less to pay the mortgage than to save up the massive deposit).

One of the problems we have is developers don't want to build many more houses so they can keep prices higher so they make more per unit.  There is no reason for house builders to build more houses than they currently do as they just water down the same pot.

The only way of getting more house build is for governments to incentivise developers to build more properties which is costly.

prices are high cos builders like to get paid and so do materials suppliers -  good houses cant be delivered cheap.

yeah, just fuels demand, when it's the supply side that needs sorting.

The Tories never deal with supply because they don’t want people to actually be able to own their own homes. It’s a thing their supporters always avoid talking about whenever housing is discussed.

The Tories only pretend to want people to own their own homes and put this half baked measures in place without doing the big picture measures. I imagine it’s either because it’s either a status thing or because they want to keep rent coming to their mates.

This literally makes no sense.  Tories have always been about home ownership.

Only since Thatcher .an idea she invented to justify her council house sell off

I was really lucky.  First time I bought a house I got a 102% mortgage!  It made it so much easier and we had some money to do the place up.

I got a 110% mortgage from a dodgy broker who was earning big on the commissions

Think it's mostly about avoiding a house price crash and the recession that would follow Cos that would f**k people more than high house prices do.
