Suddenly that idea of plain clothes police going about clubs is less crazy. Maybe they should send women only patrols if the issue was police men also being potential baddies.

Ordinarily I’d be for rehabilitation of criminals, but in this instance, where its hard to believe that the aggressor can be rehabilitated, because it really has to require a very far gone malevolent bastard, I start feeling a bit tory. So tougher sentencing? Even if it doesn’t perturb the perpetrators, it’d be good just to keep these dangers away from society for a decade or more. If that doesn’t work, chemical castration.

That said, whilst the premeditated element makes this of course worse its still gotta be pretty rare. Whereas from anecdotal evidence of almost every girl in my peer group at uni, the amount of dudes who you would consider to be ordinary blokes, friends of friends who you’d know-ish, who would take advantage of a very drunk girl whilst being not that drunk themselves is perhaps more scary. Maybe its less traumatic for the girl, many would probs think that it was just a drunken mistake, but I think its indicative that the few bad apples excuse doesn’t wash. Its something deeper, and I’d say cuts across all strands of society. So it also needs to be better understood why some men seem not to empathise with women at all for one, but for two how people can develop sexually to derive pleasure or fulfillment from sex with an unresponsive person, whether that is to do with porn or whatever. And i’d say its pretty urgent.

That green surge is pretty undeniable. Polling 10% for about a month now. The UKs third party.

Sadly for the divided left I think this is as good as it gets. Not good enough for a coalition government which has to be the aim. A Labour majority is pie in the sky stuff.

If someone rich from the left funded reform UK to bash the tories on their immigration record to split the right vote, it’d be game on. I know its a bit unsavoury but alls fair in love and war.

you must be missing the ones where labour numbers going down too! But Ozanne is right, the tory lead has narrowed a bit overall, but not enough...Starmer popularity rating still pretty bad too.

Well yeah ahah thats coz I've tried to cut as much news out as possible but people I like shout about labour "wins". I try to stay out of it but I swear they've been on basically 35 points since Corbyn with the Tories only having any real movement.

I feel like this is the main point, there's like 10 versions of left wing politics and 1 version of right wing. We are a bunch of stubborn gits ahah.

I think labour went level or even into the lead for a very short amount of time when govt were fucking up it's response to the pandemic.

That's because the left accept that political solutions are typically grey and not black and white like the right would have people believe.
