Yet another post completely off topic and personal by him.

Almost every post you do is off topic, unless the topic is religiously praising starmer

He hounded Festival Jamie off the forum a couple of years ago

Not true lol I called him out for moaning about people not taking covid seriously whilst he flew to other countries in 2020

He’s not a nice person.

notorious nice guy @Crazyfool01blocked you the other day cause you were being such a c**t to him, not to mention you’ve had about 5 arguments with other people since

Glad to see you’ve kept things on topic tho 👍

I remember stories of the 2008 financial crash where they said government action taken by Brown/Darling had to be taken that October due to banks being hours from running out of money to fill cashpoints.

The fact it's being talked about in the same category as the collapse of Lehman Brothers and it nearly taking down the US financial services sector with it is not a good sign, either of the significance of the moment or the fact it's not even been a week since Kwarteng's statement to reach that stage.

I remember it well!

It’s never the Tories fault.

Catching up on this thread today has been BEYOND FUCKING TEDIOUS.

Most people work and/or socialise with people who hold different political/religious/social beliefs...because we live in a society with a plurality of views and have to learn to get along with each other.

We get it @Ozanne, you hate the tories, and with good reason, but you're mostly preaching to the converted here. It's an open thread about politics and should be open to discussion from people with all manner of beliefs. I have enjoyed @lost's explanations about economics over the weeks as it's an area I'm not strong on and think the thread would be weaker if he was shut down because you think (erroneously it would seem) that he's a tory.

So fucking what if he or anyone else is? Can I respectfully ask that you find a different way to engage with people without typing "you're a tory" or "it's all the tories fault"? Please.

Doubt it will happen. The long term risks are too great for the party.

It's certainly febrile and the closer it gets to the election the more they'll panic about losing their seats, but there's no obvious candidate is there? The leadership contest showed what a paucity of talent they have.

I get what you are saying but I haven’t said that he or anyone can’t support the Tories. I’d love someone to be open about it, it would be quite refreshing.

I like to think I’m quite respectful when I argue a point unlike what I got back earlier on which hasn’t been commented on (which is fine, call me what you want). I can always improve though on this!

The last point regarding ‘it’s all the Tories fault’, I gave my reasons for that in earlier posts and in the one you are quoting it was a throwaway comment.

I appreciate your feedback but I think you having an issue with me saying it’s the Tories fault is slightly unfair considering some of the other comments in here.

I know Parliament isn't sitting at the moment, but what about that other no confidence vote? The one that the whole house can do, not just the Tories.

LOTO can call a VONC when Parliament is back but it’d be unlikely to pass as Tories would need to vote to bring down their government.

That's the one I was thinking of. Yeah I'd guess they'd be more likely to change prime minister than do that.

It’s even more unlikely given the state of the polls and I think there might even be a thing where if a Tory MP votes against the government in a VONC they might be kicked out (I’m not sure about that).
