I’d be delighted if these results were borne out in an election and Starmer delivered on his promises. But I’ll still be voting Green.

Out of interest what kind of constituency do you live in? My friend who lives in a labour/Tory marginal is going to vote plaid as a protest that labour isn't left enough. To me this is mad as under our electoral system it only benefit the torys.

I like what labour are offering and it is essential that the tories are kicked out but I will be voting green because of a lack of charisma.

I like a couple of policies and am pleased with the tack left but will be voting Green because I like more of their policies and stand nearer to them in my beliefs. Charisma isn’t important to me, but it could be to the public.

I live in Stockholm but I vote in a very safe Labour seat.

I have the luxury of living a constituency that always returns a labour MP, and by some margin.

I can vote Green.

I do too. But I won't be voting Green in the next election. I want tories out first and foremost.

(and labour are looking pretty good in my opinion...yes not sexy socialist beret wearing type of good....but a realistic future looking green and social democrat sort of good...something to be optimistic about...a future...and yes I'm drunk).

What poll gave them a 33 point lead? The margin between Blair and Major in 1997 was 13%, while the current one the Tories won in 2019 was slightly smaller.

The YouGov poll from this evening.

Ah I hadn't seen that when I wrote this first message, but have since seen it.

I feel like that's an outlier by virtue of this being a real weak moment for the Tories at the end of a terrible week.

Still got to get to the next election yet ofc. Seeing as the background noise is getting more and more toxic.

It seems pretty on par with the other pollsters.

Got to be a lot of Portillo moments from a result like that. Would be non stop joy.

or no stop heartache when it doesn't turn out like that.

best moment will be when spaffer loses his seat.

they'd have to do a referendum, cant see them winning that if they've got a massive majority.

Can't see them winning regardless. Sadly this is not a country that likes innovation or change.

Not a fan of referendums anyway.

Think it gets harder to win if it looks like a stitch up to keep the tories out of power. The tories win elections cos the electorate want them to have power.
