This Austerity 2.0 bullshit chatter is pretty depressing/shocking. I mean the british public have swallowed some shit over the years but does Truss *really*ย  believe this will fly? It's all getting a bit ridiculous now.

yeah, surely they will uturn on some of this...I know the lunatic fringe have now got their hands on the steering wheel, but there are still many Tory MPs who will not be happy about this at all..especially some of the new red wall ones. It's like they're desperate to do their neo-thatcher thing and re-shape the british economy but they just have a couple of years...and with this our democracy isn't working, they got there just with tory member votes...so maybe there has to be some other sort of intervention.

We need to do something, we canโ€™t allow them to gut our public services any further. This right here is why I get so angry about the Tories and why I say we need a Labour government.ย

Its an issue successive governments have tangled with and haven't found a solution for since the mid-1990's when we signed all these trade deals with China, India and the former Eastern European socialist block. They have salaries that are a fraction of ours and little in the way of social systems like healthcare & pensions along with many having a much youngerย population.

I think the simple answer is you can't compete.

its not about the age of the population, its about how much those oldies have saved for their old age; so that they're not burdening today's society with their old age costs.

The public in this country just seem to roll over and allow the Tories to tear the country apart.

The constant comparison to others countries is a form of gaslighting to make the the public believe things are actually great here so that when the Tories make them worse we donโ€™t get angry. Itโ€™s a joke.ย

No trains & no march near me. Odd that they've chosen to hold these on a day with train strikes!

The march in bristol is going to meet up with the train picketers.ย
