Anyway just checked the stats, seems were about on a par with the 3 countries I mentioned.

Anyway ignore me I have these apparently weird beliefs over the evils of money, capitalism etc

I think it feels worse here because of the state of the renters market. Renting is so expensive and you’re completely at the mercy of how good/bad the landlord is. If there were better checks/balances in place to protect renters then people might be happier to rent.

it does seem all wrong. Ideally we'd all be living in identical state owned housing and wearing the same clothes and stuff.

I got lucky with my last landlord. He started renting out of his house after getting married so to him it’s still his house and wants to look after it rather than it just being a source of income.

Rare to find that situation.

I had something similar but within 2 years his relationship had fallen apart, he had moved back in and then served me eviction. It was hell for my mental health.

That’s the downside too. Should be fine with my new place other than the proximity of the local pub.

What are you moving to?

terrible famine in Somalia, reminds me of Ethiopia 1986. we need Bob. its the result of climate change and drought with relief efforts hampered by war, same old story. if the world gets its shit together we can stop it becoming a  massive dreadful tragedy. we need Bob.

Yeah crazy that this shit still happens, but at same time is possibly going to happen more often with climate change. Terrible.

Have been in an all-day meeting today. Did I miss anything?

How many more times did Not So Cleverly say the word ‘growth’.

We are in a new ‘Anti-growth coalition’.

I'm a little worried about mortgage rates and our fixed term doesn't even run out for two years. No idea why I'm worried....yet.

I feel your worries, my fixed doesn’t run out for 3 years and I’m worried about it too.
