Looks that way. Rishi raised lots of taxes to pay for covid. Kwasi tried to change it so they didn't go up as much. IFS/OBR said no they have to go up by the full amount.

That taxes they are mentioning were in Sunaks budget. They are from the 2021 budget.

Well yes they can make cuts to public services instead but they need to find the money from somewhere.

also...OBR haven't said anything have they?

That’s it exactly. We haven’t heard from the OBR yet and the IFS didn’t like the unfunded tax cuts for the rich. We’ve been here before though…

They asked for a new fiscal statement I think. People seem worried he's going to freeze the benefit up lifts like the tax bands to make up the difference.
