Have people completely forgot all those hustings a few weeks ago? Sunak is not coming in as Chancellor.

Also Sunak as Chancellor won’t lead to a big move in the polls.

If Sunak came in as Chancellor (never going to happen) there would definitely be a bounce in the polls. Said it before but in the vast majority of cases, the general public actually don't mind u-turns as it comes across as politicians listening to them and 'doing the right thing', even if people more interested/invested in politics see it for what it is: incompetence.

The problem is the sheer number of them .... the odd U turn I kind of get ..... but under Boris they were prolific and that hasnt stopped under Truss ..... You lose the confidence that they can make a decision that might stick

The thing Sunak has going for him is he said this exact thing would happen during the leadership debate. Quite rare for a politician to do it rather from a position of hindsight.

There will be more u-turns shortly as well - fracking, benefits, universal credit, etc! It's fucking hilarious. She'll be gone by Halloween!

Truss will be gone soon. And whoever steps in as the next PM, I just can't see a General Election not happening. This government is crumbling away like a soggy biscuit.

i agree she'll be gone by xmas. it might be spaffer to replace her, and then an election becomes a possibility.
