If anyone wishes to know what Cruel World 2025 has in its pocket...
I assume the fact Madness have their own gig in Bedford near MK rules them out from taking part in a perfect replication of that line up in Milton Keynes if nothing else.
Broadly in a similar boat. Don't think it helped that the first two times I saw them, Fallon sounded in fine voice but they were going through the motions.
That said, I really dig this live version - low quality, but still - of Have Mercy the first time I saw them.
Then, they closed with an absolutely sensational take on The '59 Sound when I saw the reunion run a few years ago, in what was easily the best gig of theirs I've seen.
But yeah, they could do with just a little more propulsion to their live power, and a little less croaky gravel to Brian's tones if possible.
Vintage footy tops seems to be an in thing for some festival goers tbf. I remember at Truck 2019 they were selling a load, although bizarrely a lot of them seemed to be for Bundesliga sides and even the German national team.
Tbf I got caught up in the hype earlier in this thread that Biffy Clyro would do it, which seems to have been based on absolutely nothing in retrospect.
Ah well.
I'd argue 2017 was a missed opportunity given they were in Europe for most of June/July that year, including for a UK theatre tour, but maybe they just weren't on one another's radar at that time.
