@Ken19so for example artists/bands such as ed sheeran, Coldplay, Eminem etc will pretty much guarantee the day tickets being sold out. Maybe this also has to do with exclusivity as well or not? For example eminem doesn't play as many shows like muse etc.

I have some doubt about Coldplay. Their new single isn't well received. It seems they follow the same way as Muse with Simulation Theory with a lot of synth and less organic instruments.

Bad songs, a very bad singer and cringy shows.

Their show at Werchter 2017 is without a doubt one of the worst I've ever experienced. (Luckily i could flee to Lorde just in time!)

If Imagine Dragons are one of the worst live acts you've seen, then you're a lucky guy 😄

I saw Imagine Dragons at Pinkpop and RW that year, both show were fine imo.

In 2018 I really enjoyed their Lollapalooza show in Berlin, head worthy band for sure nowadays!

Don't know on which day they gonna play, but if ID are not your taste, there should be a gem in the Barn waiting for you I guess 😛

Regarding 2019, I'm a huge Muse fan myself and the programm on that day was very weak compared to the other days.

Pink is one of the biggest stars on the planet, she sold out like 10 stadium shows in Germany with some additional shows announced later.

On friday you had The Cure, Tool, Bring me the Horizon, Weezer, The 1975 and Kylie/Robyn closing the tents .....INSANE!

The saturday with Mumford & Sons, Florence & the Machine and Macklemore could easily fill a whole headline for a German major festival 😉

If a band like Smashing Pumpkins could have subbed Muse (if they didn't changed their tour plan), I think the day would have been received a lot better.

No, they all had a day in the recent past with bad sales:

- in 2019 Muse only sold 11000 day tickets, that was really a bad investment (Muse played one of their only festival shows and were really expensive)

- in 2018 Editors did TW Classic, 35000 a 40000 tickets sold, was a stellar line up. But audience numbers showed that a max of 20000 was watching Editors, a lot of the people was gone by the beginning of the show

- 2017 Kings Of Leon Day ticket sales were Allright, not great, but also a lot of the people left during their show (Arcade Fire was normally the closing act, but needed to leave early, so they switched)

In 2016, these acts were no brainers for RW, but things have changed.
One of them will play a show in Belgium normally this summer. If everything will go as planned.

In 2019 the Muse acted in the following week of NOS Alive in the same area, I won two tickets for Muse in a lucky wheel inside NOS Alive, only that showed that the sale was being weak.
In 2015, an arena in Portugal sold out twice.

Coldplay is one of the few bands that here in my country if you play 3 days in concert, the 3 days are sold out in minutes.
At least it's like that here, now in Belgium I don't know.

Coldplay would love doing another festival round. But they are too big, the festival would sell out and the other artists are support act for the crowd (remember Rolling Stones at Pinkpop, many people were buying combi tickets just for The Stones, because the day tickets were sold out immediately). That is why many festivals don’t pull the trigger to do it.

Normally the sub for Muse would have been Eddie Vedder, but he canceled the show before the announcement. The announcement was ready to go out, it was a matter of hours/day. Was a huge disappointment for everybody from Werchter, and they had to start again with their search.
Than they had negotiations with The Strokes for a long time, but they could not work out a deal.

Finally they worked things out with Greta Van Fleet and gave them more than they deserved, but GVF knew they were in the position to ask more.

What happened to the Rolling Stones in Pinkpop happened to Pearl Jam in NOS Alive.

Yes but it was in 2016 2017. Muse sold out 2 Wembley stadium in 2007 and 2010 and now they struggle to sold out a unique show at Olympic stadium. I think things can change very quickly. I know Coldplay are still very popular but the new single is a flop, maybe it'll have an impact on their tour tickets selling.

Interesting insight! Always wondered why he added Düsseldorf the very last minute before the tour announcement. That was unexpected. Maybe he didn‘t want to be on a festival stage the day of the Roskilde tragedy anniversary.

It's not looking good for next year at all. 😞 No Strokes, no Kendrick, not Thom.

Depends, to me, it's looking good that they won't be there. Strokes and Kendrick are not my cup of tea at all.

IF RHCP are indeed out of the festival circuit picture for next year, we're looking for a new Sunday headliner. If it's not Muse, SOAD, Gn'R, Green Day, Aerosmith, Nick Cave or Macca I'm hoping for Coldplay or Foo Fighters.
