Went to see JC blind and deaf (never seen or heard before) purely on the back of this thread. Hadn't taken in it was you that started it Robert @stuartbert two hats.

Bagged a great spot as well. About third row a little bit left of stage left.

First thing I rewatched when I got home. What an undoubtedly talented multi instrumentalist.

Typical BBC sound mixing that they didn't get his Steinway at all for the first couple of numbers, but then managed to get the crowd at the end spot on.

And The Red Arrows! Always loved The Red Arrows (yeah military budget and all that). One of my first Airfix kits. Hung from the ceiling it was. Glasto moment for me. I may have got a bit James May.

Saying that I thought the vocoder stuff was a bit cheese. Had a mate that was doing exactly that thing years ago. If you can afford the kit and study the manual and know a few chords... Last I saw them they were playing keys for Toyah.

But I digress as usual. Great set.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I thought he was great! He'd reigned himself in compared to some of the other performances I've seen. The couple of pop/rnb songs he has under his belt really popped on a live stage. Although I lost my note a couple of times, being part of the choir was fantastic - his almost exclusive fanbase of musicians no doubt helped in that regard!

FWIW, I was stood stage centre about halfway between desk and stage and I thought his piano was almost inaudible during most of the set apart from near the end, so I don't blame the beeb too much.

Oh, and the red arrows appeared to fit his tune exactly.
