I still think the undercard is good enough to make up for it. Also it's been said so many times but I'll say it again - Mordor is the worst part of the festival so most of my time being spent at better stages is honestly a good thing and clearly they financed the strong undercard with the sales from the pop girls.
I would've loved NIN and MA but the festival is slowly moving with the times and I can't blame them. Downward Spiral was over 30 years ago and Mezzanine was 25 years ago so I kind of get it. They can't really keep the same target audience because as we age we become less likely to stay up all night at a festival and they're owned by a huge company who need to see sales.
They'll look back on this year as a huge success.
In 22 looks like she subbed Sigrid on T'Other, but since then she has taken off, so who knows. I think she'd be a great sub for Pulp, but the poster seems to suggest Spiritualized for that, and a special guest TBA. Agree with you, the special guest slot would be a tragedy. She would definitely be worth more than that for a Sheffield audience. Also, she has a headline slot for End of the Road - I know that's a lot smaller, but confirms she can draw a decent sized crowd these days.
