Respectfully disagree. Carl and Rick would do an amazing job (after all they soundtracked the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony to critical acclaim) so they could do something very special and even better than Coldplay for a pyramid headline slot - everyone gets a glowing something or other  and waves it around to Caliban’s Dream - aaaah nice…. However if I was being selfish I’d rather they did IICON and throw some special lighting around after pyramid crowd has gone to bed…

I'd say so.  The Neil announcement clearly wasn't planned either.

It’s gonna be a while now isn’t it ? Don’t think any of the rumoured remaining headliners will get a separate announcement 

The best we can hope for is that we very quickly get our act together in order to prevent things getting completely horrendous.    It’s way too late for any thing else. Can’t see it happening though as everyone will have to very significantly change their lifestyle and sadly there’s a huge number who refuse to accept it as man made despite the overwhelming evidence
