Yeah I love it!  One of my favourite records of the year for sure.  I can see them headlining Walled Garden one evening but I would definitely prefer them to be an After Dark act as then any clashes are much less likely to be an issue.

Hmm, I wonder why 2019 was so late compared with previous years? Let's hope we get them in the next few weeks!

I don’t think we ever got to the bottom of what happened exactly but there was some speculation I think that they had a headliner to announce that fell through and then had to re-jig the line up slightly.  Yo La Tengo ended up headlining the Friday night but were never announced as headliners initially unlike Four Tet and FJM.  Someone may be able to offer more details…

Just seen Viagra Boys, was a great show. Looked at the clashfinder though and... afternoon on the mountain stage doesn't sound right for them. Feel like they'd suit the Far Out tent more

Do we have any news regarding who Bicep may be up against? I'm planning on swerving them at Glastonbury so am trusting I'll catch them second time lucky!

Not really.  I think the only thing we know for certain is that they won’t clash with Kraftwerk, given that Kraftwerk are at APE on Saturday and Bicep are playing GM on Saturday (according to their website).

The most likely scenario seems to be that they will headline the Far Out stage against Michael Kiwanuka or Beach House (I think Michael Kiwanuka makes the most sense).

Yeah you are probably right.  I agree that they are more of a Far Out type band.  I was probably struggling for room when I did it.

They did once have Fat White Family on the Mountain Stage which made me think it’s not beyond the realms of possibility.

Post-TGE, the only one of these I've not seen now are Porij. The other 7 are all fantastic, ridiculously good in fact! 

KJP is quite well established at this point; Honeyglaze and Keg are two of my favourite bands of the past year but I think a lot of people know of them now.

English Teacher are hyped with good reason. Off key post-punk beats, interspersed with quiet sections of perfectly delivered lyrics on the mundanity of life. Can't wait to see them again.

Lime Garden are lo-fi but catchy and hugely danceable too. Would perfectly suit early evening in the Walled Garden (or Rising?), IMO.

Joe & The Shitboys were hugely fun. A number of songs were under 30 seconds and one that was one beat long! Lots of repetitive, shouting lyrics (in a fun way), with louds of crowd engagement - Joe moshing and people shouting the lyrics in almost every song. Widest smiles I've seen this year! Potential festival opener, @lessthanwill1?

Unschooling are a northern-French, guitar-based (including 10 and 12 string!) post-punk. Great fun live, but could do with a couple more songs with a known hook, I think.

Very exciting set of bands!

Saw them last night at Glasgow, the material was strong, their performance genuinely brilliant and the crowd was very much willing them on from the start - lead vocal duties were split between three of them which makes them feel more of a collective and not reliant again on one person fronting them.

Oh good, similar sort of sound to before? I know their last album was Arcade Fire inspired and the instrumental parts really stood out to me so I was hoping that would continue even without Issac.

Yes, most of the new material would have fitted well on the last album, and I guess it is mostly stuff that they were already working on before he left, and have continued to develop.  I'm guessing the multiple leads are bringing their own ideas forward and they are developing them together, for example the keyboard player's contribution last night was her playing and singing solo for much of the song (with the rest off stage) with the others coming back on to join in for a crescendo finish, but it very much seemed like her song.  The bass player has been doing solo gigs and some of her solo material has made it into the band set (or they were intended for the band and she's used them in her solo sets).  The violinist isn't on the tour but think she's still in the band, and writing songs, one of which they've been playing on this tour.  That makes it sound like a bit of a jumble but it did hang together as a band set.

She's still touring with Jockstrap, saw them a few weeks ago and they were superb.

Some I know on there. Have seen Noon Garden but he played solo so would love to see him with a band. May is great, she's on tour supporting Jockstrap.

Frauline I really like, a kind of like a cross between Wych Elm and Throwing Muses.

Kyoto Kyoto I have listened to before but a lot of the others need investigating which is great.

That Brighton set on YouTube is lovely, some great sounding material there, only one I wasn't so sure on is Across The Pond Friend

Will add that I was also at Glasgow for BC,NR. I think for a warm up tour to test new material it was really strong and there’s definitely the makings of solid songs in there. They’ll definitely iron out the kinks by festival season. Loved the last track by Tyler (bassist) and the second Lewis (saxophonist) track. Seems they’ve found their groove with the arcade fire chamber pop-esque style and it really suits them.

Also at the Glasgow gig, which was a good gig in large part because the crowd was absolutely buzzing, gave them a great reception which they responded to. New material is work in progress as you'd expect, some sounded great, some of it probably won't make the cut. Overall very much a positive.
