I'm kinda starting to believe the Sam Fender MSE rumour. The guy is absolutely enormous.

I think he could draw a bigger crowd than the likes of Paramore & Blink with the current demographic, who many have said would do MSE or nothing if they do play.

LG 2021, AM 2022, Sam Fender 2023 as the big indie rock headliner I think.

Don't think there's anything stopping someone doing both other than the big gap in fates between them which makes it much easier for british acts to do both. We get headliners doing Glasgow summer sessions usually instead which would have the same impact on sales.

Doubt it. R/L really ain’t their crowd anymore so I don’t think they’d be booked again.

You're likely right, but the festival wasn't really their crowd any more in 2011 either, and their set went down a storm. The same could be said Rage, who like Pulp have a long history with the festival. Admittedly Rage would have drawn the smallest crowd out of this year's six, but even the Gen Z dark fruits/Fiat 500 lot know Common People and probably Disco 2000.

It won't happen, I know, but I cling to hope.

Pulp are at enough festivals this year - would be very underwhelming for them to be announced a few weeks late for R&L. Hardly would shift day tickets like that.

Maybe final shows of the reunion in 2024 would be a potentially good sell but even then.

What do we think about this? Surprised there’s not been more chat about Chems as a MSW headliner; always bring in a good mixed crowd. Blondie also a good choice as an afternoon special guest

Charli XCX won't come back to sub MSE twice in a row, she isn't Fallout Boy.

Aitch will be subbing, and so will Becky Hill. Blondie aren't a special guest. Loyle Carner would be 3rd down/special guest.

Headie One isn't really relevant, MGK would not be subbing. QOTSA aren't coming back for a while and they wouldn't headline MSE when they were last booked for MSW, Idles and Architects are both sub level.

Chemical Brothers aren't headlining, they would do a Pendulum appearance at most. Wu Tang Clan?! They may as well get NWA while they're at it.

BBCC are not going to appear for a while, they stayed on to long at Leeds and invited family on stage. 2 family members were to drunk and got in to a fight which police were called on.

Truck is half the size of Finsbury park that they also headlined

Can't argue with them as a 4th down booking really if they are headlining a 45k park. Jamie T is doing that and a lot of people seem to think hes MSW or nothing
