Kinda off-topic, but does anyone else miss the days when you'd see the lineup the day before the announcement if you had an NME postal subscription because they had a massive poster advert?

I think the lineup used to come out on Wednesdays and you'd sometimes get the magazine early on Tuesdays

Think 2011 (the first year I went) was the last time this happened.

Nah this was around 2012 I'm thinking

Was it? I don't remember anything like that at the time. I do remember the 2012 line-up getting leaked a couple of hours before the announcement (person said that New Order were subbing which got me super excited, only to disappoint me by saying he was wrong, and it was Paramore subbing instead). I also remember the poster from the year before being leaked but I'm not sure about the sources.

There seemed to be leaks every year from the early to mid 2010s. Less so nowadays.

Wasn't that the third year in a row they played R&L in an elevated main stage position as well?

Yep

2007: 3rd down
2008: Sub
2009: Sub

That 2009 line up at the time seemed so weak, but in comparison to what we get nowadays it's a cut above.

07. Bloc / arcade/chills  08. Bloc / killers  09. Bloc / Radiohead....... Haven't been back since? Due a return?

Not sure what kind of slot they'd play nowadays, probably something like 3rd down MSW, but they'd be a decent booking. They seem to have completely disappeared from the UK festival scene which is odd considering how they'd play all the major ones year in, year out in the mid to late '00s.

Well if they're doing Sziget, I think that might bring them into play as a rumour.

Thats not really a rumour just an artist thats touring close to RnL. Theres no actual rumours going about that Imagine Dragons are doing the fest i don't think!

Well tbf I hadn't seen any rumours. I'd just guess them as in the neighbourhood.

Saying that, could well be in line to do another UK thing if anything at all or maybe even not touring. Such is the fun of guessing this ha.

Has Tom Grennan been mentioned? I’ve heard he’s maybe a sub or MSE headliner.

Assume you mean MSW....

Very, very unlikely I'd say. Double the Spotify streams of KSI mind!   ...

Are half of them due to KSI though.

Maybe he's just turning up to play with him...

Yeah, which ever the lesser of the two main stages is.

definitely not just featuring with KSI (if he’s playing). Tom will be there. Just unsure what stage/level

Don’t care for him in the slightest but if Catfish can headline that stage, tom can definitely at least sub

Catfish have been headlining medium festivals for years. Tom Grennan has not headlined any of truck, y not etc which most of the common subs have done.

His tour is big but like hes not even sold out his o2 floor standing yet - let alone the seats which don't tend to sell well for young audience indie gigs. MSW sub at best, no chance for MSE sub.

Given the two main stage setup I’d probably say they’re MSW headliners. Not because I think they should be there but because I reckon band would push for that slot.
