Ain't everybody assuming Green Day were playing in the first place based on some guy on this forum with no evidence?

Who even was it?

Please tell me it wasn't the person who spouted out complete nonsense on Boardies

The Killers rarely do late summer festivals.

I don't think a festival taking place during late summer is a mitigating factor of whether they want to play or not. Especially as they've done plenty of festivals around August, including the two times at R&L.

op was just saying that they haven't been about when reading is on a lot in recent years.

They don't have any fests yet - maybe this is their year. Sziget has headliners yet to announce, theres one missing from Kalorama in portugal too

Strange comparison i think

KSI has kids and their parents queuing up at ASDA at 6am to buy his energy drink, and people running corner shops buying stock to flog at inflated prices.

Sad to say, but he’s absolutely fleecing the kids right now. Many of them will probably cop a £280 festival ticket just to see him. I reckon he will pull a very very young audience to the festival.

Seems legit.

I guess we'd need definitive leaks from somebody in their inner circle to pipe up and confirm it or not tbf.

What about The Killers? Another headline sized act long overdue a return, will tick the older headliner box, and they're that reliable "festival bangers" type act in a similar vein to Arctic Monkeys, Liam Gallagher, Foo Fighters, Muse, RHCP, Kasabian, Kings of Leon etc. who will always draw a good crowd.

Well given they sold out an entire UK stadium tour last summer and do seem to be out and about in some form next year after they were announced for Atlanta's Shaky Knees in May, they would be a solid enough booking. Whether they are interested is another matter.

They used to be regulars at V Festival tbf - did it in 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2014, and I suspect might well have turned up another time had that festival carried on. Though they have since tended to do June/July dates for Europe.

Maybe they're due a go in the late summer approach, even if they don't seem to have been as high up in the chat for this cycle.

He's obviously a big draw for a certain audience but a £2 energy drink is quite different to a £280 festival ticket. The bold sentence is ridiculous - bet Sam Fender's day tickets sell out first too

KSI is one of the most famous people on the planet for teenagers. Unless they can get Logan Paul to headline, nobody is pulling a crowd as big as his. It’s insane how massive he is with youngsters.

Genuine question, why is he so popular? He seemed to go from playing FIFA to music to boxing overnight, and he’s no good at either of the latter.

Not even meaning to sound like I’m shouting at could here.

He was already a very popular YouTuber with millions of followers for many years and I guess he just used that to boost his career in other things.

So is Donald Trump and Tyson Fury.

They'd pull huge crowds to hear them ramble along to Sweet Caroline, and Star Spangled Banner.

Wouldn't make good entertainment for the festivals legacy though. KSI is a step away from the musical direction, and towards just celebrity appearances.

If it sells tickets though, it sells tickets.

If Kim Kardashian, or the makeup sister released an album - it would be f*cking huge.

KSI appeals to the same generation of vlogger obsessed kids. He makes some entertaining streams, does some celebrity boxing, releases music for Tik Tok soundbites - that's exactly what the kids want now.

We don't really get it at our age. I'm sure my parents used to listen to Eminem and think "what the hell is appealing about this".

Aye, at this stage no one is doubting he’ll pull in a load of 17 year old kids to see him

Its a huge shift in policy though and a massive change in a the long term direction/ ethos of the festival  Yes they’ve always been zeitgeist, yes there have been next big things, play and then dissapear previously. This is very different though. Those have always been music led decisions, this is not

It’s no longer an alternative music festival.

We need to accept that and move on
