thatTFBguy
We've now reached the stage where KSI is being suggested for MSE. Come on, let's be serious here.

thatTFBguy
Heavy rumours again today of Tom coming back to blink-182. Not sure I can see them at R+L but that's one reunion that would have me buying a day ticket out right.

MTS is a serious artist that appeals to a specific sector of music fans, she will get bigger but at the time of her HL appearance, she was not headliner size. KSI is a flavour of the month, autotune rapper who is only famous for being a shit talking vlogger that boxes other shit talking vloggers. He will never get bigger, he will be forgotten about like other viral social media stars that started rapping, made some ear worms and then vanished in to obscurity - Jake Paul, Big Shaq, Ricegum, Lil Xan, Pink Guy, Bella Pouch, That Septic Guy. It will probably be a great booking for this year, but the legacy of the festival will crumble and in a year when he isn't popular anymore because another TikToker has pipped him, people will be mortified how they went from Stormzy, Dave to KSI, and the festival will not be seen as one of the UKs biggest shows. You’ve been yelling at this same cloud for too long.

I'd have thought that if R&L can budget for blink-182 and/or Green Day aren't around that they might give signing them up a shot tbf. Agreed edit: theres two types of backlash - people giving them shit on twitter and then the backlash where it doesn't sell out. i just meant the shit on twitter, no doubt it will sell fairly quick Edited October 8, 2022 by gfa

I am not exactly a fan of KSI's music but to call him flavour of the month and MTS a serious artist is laughable. KSI has been releasing music for longer, plays bigger venues and has far better and more consistent chart success. MTS peaked at 46 and 65 with her 2 albums, KSI 1 and 2, MTS has 4 top 40 singles, KSI has 17. MTS has 2 top 10 singles, KSI has 8. I don't believe he is big enough to headline, but you are doing your argument no favours by throwing out baseless statements.

Matt42
Think Twitter will be more interested in whether R&L have booked playboycarti tbh. KSI subbed by Playboy Carti would be a solid day for their attendees.
Chad888
With headliners confirmed: Friday // Sam Fender | Foals Saturday // Billie Eilish | KSI Sunday // Greenday | Machine Gun Kelly Who do we think will be subbing them? Sam Fender > Rex Orange County Billie Eilish > Playboi Carti Greenday > Yungblud Foals > Lewis Capaldi KSI > Aitch Machine Gun Kelly > Don Broco

mttJ
Just checked in and can’t believe the KSI thing is still happening. Random question that just popped into my head whilst at the gym though, what’s the Reading set you weren’t at which you’d have most liked to have seen? Before you even starting going as well, of course.

Regardless of how much I know there are better festivals out there Reading will always have a special place in my heart and if they keep getting bands headlining like they do I’ll keep coming back as much as I say I won’t. MTS is just a run of the mill industry plant, marketed to people who think that songs about having sex are subversive and cutting edge. KSI, while he might not be to everyone's taste, and while he does have an annoying personality, did work his way up. Started off as some guy making YouTube videos in his parent's home and now he's a massive name.

Started off as some guy making YouTube videos in his parent's home and now he's a massive name. When did he start with the music though. Was it always a passion or was it suddenly another potential revenue stream. There’s no bigger ‘plant’ than taking someone famous, attaching them to a production team and turning out hits. See Kylie and Jason…etc…etc
