First timers

Sooooo excited first time going download 2022 for me and my cousin however unsure on how it works arfter reading some of this 

 

do we pick our camp site if we have the 5day camper pass? 
 

what are the rules for size of tent required (looking to buy one) 

 

anything we should know

You can camp where you want from when you get there. I believe the sooner you are there that there is a closer car park.

No major size I don't believe.

Although it sounds downbeat, it's better you know that the effort actually put into the camping area especially to cater for bad weather is non existent. 

The arena has very good sound but the layout isn't good. The walk to the entrance if it hasn't changed is pretty long.

Bar queues last time I went were pretty alright.

It's been a long time since I was at Download, but, from my festival experience I can honestly say

- get there as early as you can,

- pack in a way that you can carry it over a long distance as it isn't a short walk 

- choose your spot wisely (you might think you'd want to be close to toilets, but think of the smell and people queuing around you, or close to the path (but what about being so open). 

- tent size isn't limited, however, if it is only you or you and a friend in a tent, maybe don't buy a huge one and take up too much space (other people need to camp too remember 😂) 

- if there is a group of you going, lots of people camp in a circle, face their tents inwards, and bring a gazebo so if it rains you can still hang out together but undercover. 

- don't be afraid to make friends with your tent neighbours ☺️
