I also had First Aid Kit in Manchester on Wednesday. They were brilliant. Beautiful voices, lots of chatter. Great mix of new and old songs.

Yep can confirm. It was a life affirming show. I was down stairs and the crowd was fantastic. It was  very much a two way love in. excellent stuff.

Saw Bob Vylan for the third time tonight. Unreal show full of pride and emotion. Even had both members of slaves come for songs

Yeah, they were excellent. Really hoping for them to play one of the main stages at Glasto next year.

Saw the Small Fakers last night.  Some people are sniffy about tribute bands but when the original is no more it's often the only chance to experience the sounds of a band you've loved live.  The Fakers were superb.  Spot on and very entertaining.  Highly recommended for any lovers of The Small Faces. You won't be disappointed.

Steve Mason on Friday, he's doing a bunch of small venues so Heartbreakers in Southampton was rammed. He played Squares which was both amazing and surprising because in all the times I've seen him he's never done a Beta Band songs.

Last night went back to Heartbreakers so watch Dead Rabbits who were really great. They are local to here so the crowd was fun.

Only have 1 gig booked before now and Xmas but it's Black Country New Road so has the potential to be the best show of the year.

I actually think in many instances now tribute bands may be better than the real thing.

They were by far and away the most interesting, "edgy" and different act I saw at Glastonbury this year.

Finally got to see Wet Leg last night. Great fun and can see what all the fuss is about, they will be most welcome at any festivals I go to next year. The place went crazy when they ended on Chaise Lounge. Short gig and all over by 10pm. Think they just played the full album.

It was a nice gig with the excellent Coach Party supporting, I got in to them last year after hearing them at a few festivals.

A nice bonus was Lava La Rue, the other support . Have to admit, I knew nothing about her before the gig and was pleasently surprised. She has a wondeful voice and a few decent tunes. Can see her having a big future and would be happy to see her again.

It really seems like they’ve improved a lot and that’s great. I saw them back in April on their album release tour and they weren’t the best, quiet vocals and zero stage presence.

Hoping they’ll play at the farm next year so I can see them again.

Went to Abba Voyage last night, very impressive.  Really stunning lighting / staging - what looks like a fairly standard stage to begin with turns into a really amazing immersive experience with really impressive effects using lights, lasers and mirrors.

The avatars look so real, they only lose you slightly when they’re shown extra large and you can see that slight computer game unrealness close up.. but overall it’s pretty easy to buy into the idea that you’re watching a live gig.

Would love to see other classic gigs done this way or just the lighting designs and staging done for other live artists as it was breathtaking.  I guess the purpose built venue was a big part of that though so maybe not so doable.

Paul Heaton supported by Billy Bragg last night in Manchester, absolutely incredible and a great job of livening up a pretty flat crowd after the football result! Plus, after all the stops he pulled out to please as many fans a possible, what an absolute legend! (And £30 tickets too 🤩)

the nightmare before Christmas last night  at Wembley arena.. With the cast doing it live, guest pheobe bridgers , London p orchestra. was Incredible with orchestra playng  over video. was perfect sound, timing and great experience. Made me think today, some classical orchestra again a big musical sing song with video would go down a treat.

Was very impressed with the sound last night.

There's been a few over the years, hacienda and I remember listening to ride of the valkaries on the pyramid.  Tho I imagine the cost and logistics of many of these productions rule most out.
