Went to see them in Dublin last night. Bloody fantastic! Highlights among the new tracks included Conversion (Nick is much clearer in the mix live and it was powerful), Final rescue attempt, Joy and Cinnamon Horses…but as usual, a completely engrossing performance (the new album works so well live and I thought the entire show was really well paced, so I can see why they aren’t tampering with it). Nick was in very chatty form (he has been the last few times to be honest, but this is probably the most “jovial” he’s been. He laughed a lot). Colin Greenwood has slotted in like a natural, Ellis a force of nature as usual and the backing singers superb. Anyone on the fence about going to see them on this tour, just do it, you won’t regret it!
Bristol is also very popular, but there are more coaches from there and London. Typically in the coach sale, I find it’s a race against time to get the tickets secured on the coach you have selected. Even if they are there to select, they can vanish before your payment goes through and you get the “tickets can’t be allocated” message. Given we now only have 10 minutes to complete, trying a variety of options gets even more stressful! Basically, none of them are “easy”.
