But how are the runs/data showing nothing of note on Thursday but forecasters like BBC showing persistent rain? (I appreciate it's low percentage but still)

Met Office has 60% chance heavy showers Thurs now. And heavier showers Sunday.

Localised thunderstorms are notoriously difficult to predict and may skim us or the conditions to create them fail to materialise in the end. All we can say here is that the conditions for their creation look possible for Thurs.

Depends what it is exactly, but the temps are good enough on Thursday for very quick recovery.

ECM 12z for Thursday shows the rain.

Friday / Sat looks slightly better - showers overnight Friday but otherwise pretty dry.
