Fair enough, consider me corrected. I don't remember this site coming close to having to close mind you, just a few posters leaving. I'm sure a number have left for reasons that have nothing to do with the trolls too. The closest it came to closing was when the site was actually deleted for a few months.

 

As I said, the hardcore porn was too far and the sheer number of accounts ending up on here was probably a bit much. That has clearly stopped now though and is a thing of the past, yet some are intent on dragging it back up. People have been on the receiving end of bans for posting crisp polls since then!

A few times recently it's felt like it was heading the same way. There are a number of accounts that if they are not the same person, they certainly feel that way (mate).

It's Neil's site, it provides a service we all use and presumably enjoy, if he feels anything is threatening his site and his livelihood then he has the right to shut it down. Let's face it, if this site wasn't here I'm sure we'd all miss it. Productivity across the country may go up but that's a heavy price to pay.

Without going into details I reported a vile post the other day that was seemingly posted by an alt-account.

Also when you see 'new' posters registered in the last couple of weeks but using efest vernacular like Pymild in their name, it's clear there's people on here just pissing about with alt accounts. 

That being said Neil, really don't think @Matt42 has anything to do with it at all.

Yeah. I've seen them before and it was a good time. There'll definitely be some acts clashing with them that are more exclusive, or cost more money to go and see on tour, that I've never seen before that I have some interest in. I'll go to a few of those over the weekend, but I'll be in search of a good time at Glasto, and I think black midi are likely to provide that.

I'm not sure where this theory that there's one person sat at their office desk switching between 8 accounts all day has come from. Its very clearly several people with their own accounts.
