I believe.

I'm not one for all the "There needs to be at least one female headliner" talk.

But I do think that if we've got 3 male headliners, then the festival will at least make an effort to redress that somewhat with the next biggest slot.

I tend to agree. I think the general silence around the slot is due to the current exclusivity arrangements in place elsewhere. In fact, I think the longer we go without confirmation, it might increase the chances of Williams playing

Exactly my thinking too.

they could have addressed that for the headliner slot

Again, they can only book whoever is available and wants it.

For sure, that's also going to be a consideration.

But I think the all male headline trio means that RW would only be in play once they've tried and failed to balance it out somehow - unless he was booked first of course.

I saw this the other day where he says he’s not been asked. He does seem to be talking about playing quite a lot, so I think he actually hasn’t been asked and is just keen to do it rather than him hinting at playing this year. My guess for a while has been Eurythmics since there was talk of them touring this year.

Yep.

Suitability > Availability > Desire to Play > Willingness to settle for a lower fee than other major festivals are the factors that the bookers have to contend with.

Who knows? Maybe they offered some female artists the opportunity but one or more of the above was a showstopper? I'm sure Emily will address the apparent gender imbalance post-announcement, if it does turn out to be the three we think.

GnR might have been happy to settle for a lower fee on this occasion as their coffers would have been bolstered by the BST show?

Might be smokescreen, but it genuinely feels to me that Robbie hasn't been asked for this year and is sending signals that he'd be up for it in the future.  For that reason - and the exclusive elsewhere - I doubt it's him.

Of all the contenders discussed I'm hoping it's Annie Lennox/Eurythmics.  Failing that, Duran Duran.

Still think it's Steps though.

I saw Duran Duran at Scarborough Open Air theatre in 2021 and they were great.  Solid bangers start to finish and everyone out of their seats singing and dancing.  Perfect for Legends.

I have info on who's lined up for the slot that I can't divulge. Which I get is super annoying.

They haven't been mentioned on here thus far and would have huge crowd appeal whilst pissing off swathes of the festival old guard.

Sorry to drag this up... Did we get anywhere with this?

Duran Duran do have dates in April/May and nothing after that so could be a possibility...

They'd be my second pick after the Robster.

Saw them in Vegas a couple years back. Tremendous fun and definitely tick all the boxes. I'd be at that, I think. Robbie, not so much for me, but he's absolutely perfect for the slot and would have a monumental crowd
