FloorFiller
The crowd trying to get in to TLC this year felt more unsafe to me than any legend/Pyramid crowd. The Pyramid field is made to accommodate those kinds of crowds, so whilst it can get kind of shitty and long trying to get in/out, unsafe it is not. stuie
Yeah, it’s probably the only field in the world that can handle the biggest artists safely but if that were to ever happen it should have some stiff competition elsewhere to ease it. CaledonianGonzo
Too lazy to do it myself, but dedicated Roxy Music thread required to filter it away from folk still focused on the Spice Girls.

I wouldn't have thought that there is much cross-over between the fan-bases or that Roxy Music are especially bothered about what a Spice Girls audience might think. They have their own audience and will do their own thing. Edited September 13, 2022 by sadimmock

It would also damage Roxy Music as people would compare the reception to the two. They aren’t there. I’m surprised Mel C also can’t be trusted, as it was Mel C this time spinning that they were a possibility. My guess - Posh backed out and they don’t think it’s worth it. Mel C can't be trusted because she says it every year iirc?
CaledonianGonzo
Mel C said 'we'd love to do it'. Standard boilerplate response. Doesn't make her a liar.

As far as I can tell Mel C only started saying about it after appearing this year, but I could be wrong.

CaledonianGonzo
There's an article in the Daily Mail if you Google Mel C Glastonbury. But as above its all vague "it would be great" type platitudes rather than anything definitive
Livvy13
There's this article as well. https://www.stylist.co.uk/entertainment/podcasts/spice-girls-glastonbury-rumours/538674 Again nothing definitive just saying that they'd love to do it. CaledonianGonzo
Basically, anyone going around telling folk they were nailed on (or similar) was doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Would also imagine a pretty big exodus if it didn't start well.

Be interesting to see how people would respond if they came out and did the full "90s girl power" schtick as well.

They were fairly grating to a lot of ppl in a way DiRo, Dolly, and Kylie weren't.

MEGATRONICMEATWAGON
Mel C would love to play Glasto, of course she would. She's been irrelevant for 20 years. I'm glad they're not the Legend for next year (if I get tickets), although they'll prob do it one year. Unless, they're going to sub-Elton on the Sunday. Too weird and not enough hits for The Legends Slot™ itself, but they're still amazing live and would be decent warmup beforehand.
