As a 90s child Steps would be kind of a guilty pleasure, but I wouldn't call them legends at all.

In fact, I think they are Better Best Forgotten.

What about Madge?

She's been larking about on TikTok, missing bins and generally being visible.

You got there before me, so I'm going to have to go for:

Steps in the legend slot? That was the last thing on my mind.

Do RM even come close to having the catalogue for legends? As a very casual listener I can pick out More Than This and Love Is The Drug. Doesn't even come close to Diana Ross and I've literally never put her or The Supremes on of my own free will.

Off the top of my head, songs I know/like/could probably sing along to most of the words:

Virginia Plain

In Every Dream Home....

Love is the Drug

Both Ends Burning

More Than This

Jealous Guy

Avalon

Do The Strand

Oh Yeah!

Was too young at the time to know this (I'm mid-40's) but I suspect these were all hits if I know them.  So there's probably over an hours' worth of top tunage.

Perhaps most obviously, it would be a Tragedy.

Barry Gibb again - not only did the legend slot himself but wrote huge hits for most of the other acts that have done it.

Yeah but Steps invented the Tragedy dance move - hands parallel to the sides of the head 😂

Roxy do seem like an odd choice given the recent trend but I wouldn’t say that they are undeserving. Perhaps this is part of a deliberate attempt to shift the emphasis of the slot. I do wonder if Michael and Emily want to cry a little inside when they see the choreographed bouncers dance…
