Wednesday/Thursday Entertainment

Morning all.

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere. I did trawl back 18 something pages last night and gave up.

This is my third time going and the Wednesday and Thursday have been some of the best part of the weekend, exploring the site and coming across pockets of randomness. That said I do feel theres a distinct lack of music and find myself searching for a band to get stuck into for an hour.

Am I missing out. Are their guaranteed venues (obviously  William's Green on the Thursday) and what's your Wednesday/ Thursday activities.

Look forward to hearing how everyone spends theirs.

Peaking way too soon for this year!

Mik Artistik is usually on at least on the croissant neuf bandstand wednesday and rocket lounge thursday. Will probably have a 2nd or even a third gig on thursday too.

this year im going to think about the parts of the site i wont get to on the fri-sun eg green fields and spend a bit of time there. Its a shame theatre and circus dont really open till friday.

Wednesday is an aimless wander for the most part for me, hole up in a few bars and generally chew strangers ears off

Thursday 2019 we were in silver Hayes for the dance acts for a large portion of the night , as that’s my bread and butter, but Thursday was the unsung hero of the weekend, great vibe throughout

Places I've been that have bands on the Wednesday and/or Thursday:

Greenpeace stage

Avalon cafe

Other stages in Green fields, e.g: Toad Hall, Croissant-neuf, etc.

Bandstand

It'll be mostly bands you've never heard of, but I've seen some gems like Billy Bragg, Beans on toast, New York brass band & Keston Cobblers Club.

Had a great few hours at the improv tent in the Park. Just a tent with a bunch of instruments and noone booked to play.

I remember some Beatles, Disney and Fleetwood mac medelys. Perfect after having a few ciders watching the sun set from the hill.

Also the circus. I try not to restrict myself to Wednesday and Thursday though. I spend a lot of gaps chilling in there.

Too busy meeting up on Weds for music, late night Rabbit Hole for dj's?

Mik Artistic will be on somewhere, Thurs 2017 he was on the Gateway.

Strummerville will have bands on Thurs - Frank Turner in 2019 was packed halfway down the hill, followed by Snapped Ankles.

Williams Green have bands on Thursday - always packed out

There's always something on at the Glade on Thursday

I should add my usual Wednesday activity is going way to hard way to early. Often find myself in bed by 10 😂

Every year I say I'm going to do things responsibly and every year I'm clutching a toastie whilst zig zagging up cardiac hill on the way to the campervans when it's not even dark.

I hope they bin off the fireworks this year.

Yep I'm with you. I'd like to see them pioneer some alternative lightshow but fireworks have ruined my life and are horrendous for the environment. I just can't enjoy them any more because I know all too well the absolute misery they cause. I'd love to see some drone light shows or something else to show how it could be done.

For a festival that’s centred around charity and the environment it’s weird to burn a bunch of environmentally damaging cash in the air.

Love it! Thanks all.

Some great suggestions and nice hearing about everyone little rituals. Keep them coming.

See you in the field! x

Around Avalon and Green Fields can be good for entertainment on Thursday. For me Wednesday has always been a bimble day, look around see what's changed, Efests meet up etc

Thursday is often one of the most indulgent nights for our group. Haven't spent several days trudging around so you've got energy in your legs, supplies are still strong, and there's usually some strong nightlife dotted around (Block9 and beat hotel usually).
